Tabaré is a casual, cozy, and intimate restaurant that resembles an oceanfront cabana transplanted in Brooklyn. The kitchen dishes out authentic Uruguayan cuisine using local and organic products. From sausages, to soups and stews, and sweets, there's something for everyone.
“Came here for dinner to celebrate my Mother’s Bday and had Javiera as our waitress. Javiera was super attentive, provided suggestions, and was super sweet. The place accepts cash, Amex, and an app BlackBird. (They have an ATM). Please don’t let this stop you from going there. The food and drinks were delicious!!! I would definitely comeback another day.”
“Cozy little place with great food and interesting cocktails. Great for beef-lovers. The stars here are the churrasco, empanadas and the Chivito sandwich (which is a flank steak sandwich). I went there to celebrate with a friend and we both loved it. The ambience is warm, quiet and welcoming, even though the tables are a bit on the smaller side. All in all, this is a great little place with excellent food, and a nice atmosphere.”
“Went in with my partner for dinner, the place is really nice and the vibe is really cozy. The food was really great, everything cooked really well including the steak as desired. We got the tomato soup which was really good. The servers were amazing and helped us with all our questions. My only note would be that the lighting is extremely dim, which is part of the atmosphere, but slight changes could be made to make it easier to read the menu and see the food. A bigger candle or a less frosted candle holder would definitely do good.”
“We were in the mood for a well-cooked steak nothing fine dining, just solid food and this place delivered. Cozy spot, great service, and very well-executed dishes; you can tell they know what they’re doing with meat. For two, the parrillada for one and the ribeye work perfectly. Both were flavorful, tender, and rich. The breaded chicken was also excellent crispy and juicy. We had a beer and a tinto de verano, both on point. Empanadas are worth ordering too.”
“Writing this as I have a homemade steak dinner not nearly as good as the one I had at Tabare. This place is warm, sexy and certain to feul your appetite for some good red wine and juicy sizzling steak. My only personal gripe was that it was TOO dark. Though this might be of advantage to those meeting each other for their first times like mysterious vampires, it is also a restaurant and I would've prefered to understand what I was poking at in their sizzling plate - Picture taken with nightmode setting so you just have to be there. Friendly and attentive staff. Definitely still recommend this spot 😊”
