Tabaré is a casual, cozy, and intimate restaurant that resembles an oceanfront cabana transplanted in Brooklyn. The kitchen dishes out authentic Uruguayan cuisine using local and organic products. From sausages, to soups and stews, and sweets, there's something for everyone.
“Absolutely beautiful small cozy restaurant with amazing food and great service. Special thank you to the bartender, I ordered 3 different coctails and asked for no syrup or sugar and they were made perfect to my taste. Roasted beet salad is to die for, octopus amazing and the skirt stake is something to come back for.”
“My partner and I went there for dinner over the weekend. This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend. The food was SO GOOD!!! I loved both the cheese and the chicken empanadas as well as their octopus appetizer and ribeye special. The ribeye was cooked to perfection! The only downside is that some of their sides were a bit under seasoned. The octopus came with beans that could have used a little more seasoning but the octopus was tender and flavorful. The ribeye came with potatoes and greens. But again, the potatoes were a bit bland but the ribeye itself was soo darn good! I would come back just for that. We also ordered a glass of orange wine, another order of empanadas (beef the second time which was OK), dessert and their special shrimp ravioli (good portion size but maybe better with a different sauce). We spent about $178 (before tip) for 3 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 glasses of wine, 2 espressos and one dessert. Overall, the service was great, food came out quickly and the food was delicious.”
“Favorite atmosphere of anyplace I've eaten in NYC, came from a reddit post I found while googling 'best flan in nyc' since it's a favorite dessert of mine and I don't get it very often, much less something more authentic. Friendly staff, great drinks, and the flan far exceeded my expectations even with the high praise from the post I followed here. The flavor is amazing and the texture is even better. Will definitely have to come back next time I'm in the city.”
“Cozy and inviting spot in Williamsburg with a great vibe. We went early (around 5pm) and loved their happy hour—cocktails were really good. Service was warm and attentive. The meat was excellent, and the chimichurri was a highlight. The empanadas were delicious, and the dulce de leche flan was absolutely incredible (we didn’t even get a chance to take a photo!). Great wine selection and a varied menu. Would definitely come back.”
“Really enjoyed my dinner here! The service was really wonderful and the atmosphere is cozy. We had the beet salad and the octopus to start, both delicious. Then for entrees we got the burger, the ribeye, and the chicken milanesa. The food came out fairly quick and we had a great time. We spent $193 (including tip) for three people for the two appetizers, three entrees, a cocktail, and two soft drinks.”
