Born on the balmy beaches of the Yucatán in 2006, Tacombi is your dream destination for authentic tacos, Mexican snacks, sunset cocktails y ice-cold beer. Our neighborhood taquerias are places to gather, enjoy and share in the communion of tacos. We are honored & grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and to share authentic Mexican taco culture every single day.
“I think the crispy fish taco is my favorite but Everything is delicious. Quick, fun, friendly, great place to eat pre- or post-BAM.”
“I’ve been coming here for years for a quick bite before a show at BAM across the street but I realized last night it was also convenient if you’re going to Brooklyn Paramount that’s also around the corner. The food is always on point, the service is quick and the tacos are muy delicioso (pardon my Spanish). I always get the crispy fish tacos which are perfectly fried and battered, a michelada with Modelo and the fresh made guacamole but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Get a reservation though because they are known to book up when there’s a show going on!”
“Super fun authentic taqueria right across from BAM. it was packed on a Friday night but we got there early around 5:30p. The margaritas were perfect (ask for no sugar). The crispy fish taco was the best. Short rib also delicious. We’re ordered all the Entradas and they were all good especially the rice and beans and corn esquites.”
“Tacombi in downtown Brooklyn is one of those spots that immediately draws you in with its vibrant atmosphere and inviting setting. The décor has a fun, casual vibe with a distinctly Mexican flair, making it an enjoyable place to sit back and share a meal with friends. Its location is also a big plus—easily accessible and surrounded by the lively energy that makes Brooklyn dining such a great experience. On the service side, the staff is attentive and welcoming, which definitely adds to the overall positive impression. That said, when it comes to the food itself, there’s room for improvement. The portions are fair for the price, which I do appreciate. It doesn’t feel like you’re being shorted, and value-wise it lines up with what you’d expect in the area. However, the flavors don’t quite deliver on the same level as the atmosphere and service. While the tacos and other dishes look appealing and are plated nicely, the taste can feel a little underwhelming—missing some of the depth and punch you might anticipate from authentic Mexican street-style food. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out enough to make me crave coming back solely for the food. Another point worth mentioning is the drink selection. Tacombi only offers Lupita sodas, which feels limiting. While Lupita may be their in-house brand, it almost comes across as being pushed onto customers since there aren’t other soda options available. If you’re not a fan of Lupita’s particular flavor profile, that leaves you with little choice, which takes away from the overall dining flexibility. All in all, Tacombi has great potential. With its charming setting, convenient location, and solid service, it sets high expectations. If the food’s flavors were elevated to match the rest of the experience, it could easily become a go-to spot. For now, it sits at a solid three stars.”
“Very disappointing lunch experience at Tacombi on 25 Lafayette in Brooklyn NY. I ordered a fish taco with a side of rice and beans. The first water cup they gave me had a lipstick mark on it. I asked for a clean one, but it appeared they brought back the same cup after simply wiping it off. My fish taco arrived, but my rice and beans never did. I also asked for a fork and never received one. After waiting a long time, I ended up eating my taco while everything else was forgotten. When I went to pay, a server finally showed up with the rice and beans, but by then I had already finished my meal. They removed it from the bill, which I appreciated, but that’s not really the point. I understand it was a busy Sunday, but “every customer deserves attention”, even when dining alone. Between the dirty cup and the poor service, it was a frustrating experience, and unfortunately, I won’t be returning.”
