The Fly is a Wine Bar restaurant in the Bed-Stuy neighborhood of Brooklyn.
“The Fly in Bed-Stuy is one of those places that looks effortlessly cool—but actually backs it up with seriously good food and a vibe that keeps people coming back. It’s casual and a little chaotic in the best way: dim lighting, tight tables, music humming, and a crowd that feels equal parts neighborhood regulars and in-the-know food lovers. Let’s get straight to it—the chicken. It’s the reason you go, and it absolutely delivers. Perfectly roasted with crispy, golden skin and juicy, flavorful meat, it somehow manages to feel both indulgent and simple at the same time. Order it with the fries (non-negotiable), which are thin, salty, and dangerously easy to demolish. The roast potatoes and aioli are another standout—comfort food dialed all the way up. The menu is tight but thoughtful, with a few rotating vegetables and small plates that hold their own next to the main event. The wine list leans natural and interesting, and the staff does a great job helping you pick something that works without making it feel like a whole production. Service can feel a little brisk when it’s packed—which is often—but it fits the energy of the place. You’re here to eat well, have a couple glasses of wine, and soak in the buzz, not linger over a three-hour tasting menu. It’s not trying to be fancy, and that’s exactly why it works. The Fly nails that sweet spot between laid-back neighborhood spot and destination dining. Come hungry, maybe be prepared to wait, and don’t skip the chicken 🐔🍷”
“The food the atmosphere—everything lived up to the hype. Our party of 4 ended up ordering a whole chicken, string beans, potatoes, fries, and their special buffalo cauliflower x2 to share. Believe me when i say the chicken, potatoes, and the cauliflower were some of the best I’ve had. They open at 530pm and they’re completely filled within 20 min. Get here early!”
“Loved the food! We had a pre-fix menu since it was a big group (only downside is it was a strict get in, eat, and get out) but overall delicious! The chicken, fries, and potatoes are simple, classic, and delicious!! Would 1000% recommend — very vibey spot, gets crowded so get here early, great drinks and bar area”
“The Fly is one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants! The chicken and sides are always delicious. They have a great cocktail menu and wines by the glass. Vibes are always so high with good music… highly recommend!”
“A good spot for rotisserie chicken. It is almost Peruvian style but the their white and green sauces are not similar to the Peruvian ones. The green one is like a salsa verde and the white one is yogurt based. They each cost $3. The chicken definitely needs the sauces which should be included. The fries were really good. My favorite item was the Caesar salad. I think adding a chicken Caesar salad to menu, a quarter chicken option, and allowing the option to choose between dark meat vs white meat would be great additions to this place.”
