Cenadou is a French restaurant in the North Salem neighborhood of North Salem.
“My wife and I visited on my birthday this year and had a fantastic experience. It is definitely worth the beautiful drive out. The standout for me was the Garden Salad. "Raw Seasonal Vegetables" really undersold the variety of flavors found in this salad. It was as interesting as it was bountiful! I had a bit of a childhood throwback experience while eating the Mussels. Something about he incredible croutons with the tomato and anise herbs took me back to a time of complete joy. Will be back for sure!”
“We enjoyed Easter meal here. The setting, ambiance and service was excellent. Would also like to come back for dinner in the evening. The food presentations were great and selection of ingredients top notch. We will be back.”
“Always a treat. Some of the dishes are straight from the depths of my memories growing up in France (anchovies on buttered bread, aioli…), just more refined and perfectly executed. Others are inventive and refined takes on classics. Several are perfect to share. Host and chef are lovely people and focused on delivering a wonderful dining experience. Easily our favorite restaurant in the area.”
“We had a wonderful dining experience at Cenadou. Cenadou is a small restaurant located in North Salem serving excellent French fare. The small but diverse menu has many interesting options and each dish is well prepared and presented. Service was slow but attentive. The room is attractive and we received a warm welcome.”
“Such a disappointing experience. I was genuinely excited to try this restaurant, but the service was among the worst I’ve experienced. We were never served bread. The glass of wine I received was shockingly small, as though the server had never poured a glass of wine before. After being seated, we waited over an hour before any food arrived. When our main courses finally came out, the side dishes didn’t arrive until another 15 minutes later. We also ordered the cheese plate, but they forgot to bring the bread that was supposed to accompany it. The entire evening felt chaotic and amateurish, as if the staff had never worked a dinner service before. It’s especially frustrating because the food itself was excellent. Unfortunately, by the time it arrived, the experience had already been soured by the poor service. We spent over $500 on dinner, and I simply cannot make sense of how a restaurant at this price point could deliver such a disorganized experience. If I’m going to spend that kind of money, I could have gone into Manhattan and dined at any number of exceptional restaurants with polished service and a much stronger overall experience. The food here may have been stellar, but the service fell so far short of expectations that I left feeling frustrated rather than impressed.”
