Basil Pizza & Wine Bar is a Pizza restaurant in the Perrysburg neighborhood of Perrysburg.
“During the Memorial Day weekend, while staying at Levis Commons, I decided to walk to a nearby restaurant for dinner and ended up discovering Basil Pizza and Wine on May 25. It was a charming Italian spot with a cozy dining room and a welcoming patio. The menu looked great, so even though it was already late and only about a half hour before closing, I chose to dine there. I was a little worried I might feel rushed because of the time, but that did not happen. I was greeted warmly by the hostess and the manager as soon as I walked in, which immediately made me feel welcome. Since it was a bit cool outside, I chose to sit in the dining room. I was seated in Sydney’s section, which turned out to be perfect because she was an excellent server. Even though she had already started the closing tasks in the dining room, she still provided outstanding service. She was attentive, polite, professional and efficient. She took my order right away and kept the soda refills coming without me ever having to ask. Sydney’s service really made the difference and it complemented my delicious meal. In an era where many restaurants feel inattentive or simply not invested in the guest experience, Basil Pizza and Wine delivered a memorable evening. It ended up being an unexpectedly great dinner and it will be my go to restaurant the next time I am staying in Perrysburg. Sydney and the restaurant were fantastic.”
“Absolutely loved the Harry Potter seasonal menu and the taste of this food is out of this world. The layout could use some work as you have to maze yourself throughout. Also a tighter fit, so it gets WARM with the fire blazing. Can’t wait to go again! Every single bite was delicious. Highly recommend that Honey Feta. You won’t regret it!!!”
“Great experience. For appetizers recommend the honey whipped feta or baked brie. Enjoyed the Salmon Avocado salad, Beef Carpaccio was solid too. For Pizzas recommend the Truffle Shuffle, Queen Margarita and Four on the Flour. Also, they have good gluten free bread and gluten free pizza crust!”
“I came here with 2 of my friends on a Saturday night at 6pm. We were sat right away. Our waiter was at our table within a minute of sitting down and had our drinks within minutes. My friends got alcohol and they seemed to love their cocktails. We ordered bruschetta and our waiter warned us that it’s not your typical bruschetta. We tried it anyways. My friends absolutely loved it. I hated it lol. It’s EXTREMELY sweet. It’s got a lemon marscapone cheese. The bread is very soft and fluffy and tastes great, but they pile that sweet cheese thick on top of it and it’s just not my cup of tea. My friends ordered pizza and they loved what they ordered. I ordered the Caesar salad and added chicken. The Caesar dressing is chefs kiss. I absolutely loved it and wish I could’ve taken a bottle of it home with me. The chicken was cooked well, but definitely needs more seasoning. It took a bit to get our checks, but overall it was a great experience.”
“We were visiting Toledo and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn nearby. Basil was less then a block away and had good reviews so we decided to walk there for dinner. We walked in at 6:30 pm and were told the earliest we could be seated was 8:30 pm. We chose to see if a spot opened up at the bar before figuring out alternative dinner plans. We waited about 15 minutes before 2 seats opened up. We ordered drinks - I had the Vanilla Apple Cider Spritz and my husband had the Sicilian Sangria, then the Tiger Tail Sangria. All were pretty good. For food we split a Caesar Salad (no anchovies), a Pepperoni Pizza and the Chicken Piccata. The Chicken Piccata was amazing, better then the pizza. The Pizza was pretty good, great flavor. The Caesar salad was nice and the soft boiled egg with it was perfection. The only thing that would have made our experience better would be the seating/wait time. When we sat at the bar, there were a few tables open in the dining room. Because we were so close to the hostess stand, we could overhear customers walking in shortly after we got seats (around 7-7:15) asking how long the wait was for a table who didn't have reservations (like us) and were sat immediately. We were irritated that we were quoted a 2 hour wait when it ended up being only a 30-45 minute wait. Although we were glad we had the ability to be able to wait and eat at the bar (no children), the mismanagement of seating vs time doesn't seem correct and is a huge way to lose potential business. We don't know if we would come back if we are in the area again due to this. The food was great but because we are from out of town, we don't always have the luxury of being able to book a reservation on line due to traffic and travel time.”
