“We have been meaning to go here for years and finally went for an anniversary dinner! The service was wonderful, the menu featured in season Pittsburgh produce, and the food was delicious! I got the Taco Al Pastor and a Mezcal Margarita, the margarita was the best one I’ve had in Pittsburgh!”

“I will say the portions are quite small but with everything being made in-house, it’s worth trying out this authentic Mexican restaurant! The modern vibe from the menus to the plating to the interior design makes it a cozy spot for evening drinks or weekend brunch. We got to try the pozole verde, chilaquiles, an horchata, cafe de olla and an agua fresca. The star of the show was the corn pancakes and the chocolate concha.”

“We loved our experience at Duo’s. Hands down the best Birria I’ve ever had. We especially loved the tortillas that they make from scratch with corn sourced from Mexico. You can never underestimate the power of a good tortilla. My husband also had the tostado de atún which was delicious. We shared the tacos de al pastor which were delicious and perfectly spiced/seasoned. Duo’s wide selection of mezcal was impressive and we loved that they only carry brands that are fully Mexican owned, which supports not only family businesses but also the tradition and cultural importance of agave. There really was not a single thing we experienced that we had anything negative to say. Ultimately, we definitely recommend Duos.”

“Had a first time wonderful meal here this past Friday. It was interesting walking in, as they had a wait for not only tables but the bar too. They said they get so busy that they have to during busy times, which I’ve never seen before. Not a big deal though; as a single diner I was seated within 5 minutes still. I ordered the steak tartare tostado, and due to the sauce underneath used a fork to eat it. I got the impression that eating it with a fork wasn’t usual, but it saved me from messy hands! The spice level was more than enough for my taste buds, to the point that when the manager stopped over to ask how I liked it and I mentioned the level of spice being a little much for me, she poured me a horchata (their house blend in fact!), which was greatly appreciated. The next item I had were the birria de chivo; essentially make your own birria tacos. These were also delicious, but extremely filling and very messy. I’d probably only order them again if I was sharing with someone! The flan was delicious as well, and was a huge portion size. Overall a really fun first visit, and now my husband is insisting on going with me next time 😂”

“Delicious and authentic Mexican food in a small and cozy restaurant under the Duolingo headquarters. All the food including the tortillas and chips are made at the restaurant. The restaurant does not have a big duolingo theme, but more of a modern cozy vibe. The tuna tostadas were delicious, the tacos, flautas and guac were also amazing. The churro was good but a little undercooked in the middle. Overall a really great experience serving authentic mexican food that might take your taste buds outside their comfort zone.”
