“We came here to try Pozole and were blown away by how great this restaurant is. Food tasted great. We had lunch combo with pozole and enchilada and taco. Service was fantastic. Decor is very high end looking. Hostess who seated us explained that this is not a TexMex place but rather southern Mexican cuisine. Salsa and chips they brought us were unique in that the chips were very firm and crunchy. Salsa was not the normal diced tomato and onion type thing. It had a thicker consistency than other salsa we’d had in the past. Food tasted unlike any Mexican food we tried before. Very tasty. There is no way to explain in words. You need to try it for yourself. I highly recommend and plan to definitely visit again.”

“Meso Maya is truly a Dallas landmark—both historically and culinarily—and hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant, bar none. Housed in a beautiful Spanish-style building on McKinney Avenue dating back to 1938 (originally the Luna Tortilla Factory), this place carries deep roots in Dallas’ “Little Mexico” history. The space itself tells a story, and the restaurant does an incredible job honoring that legacy while delivering a modern, elevated dining experience. I’ve been coming here since it opened, and it has never disappointed. The food is exceptional and consistently authentic, with bold, earthy flavors inspired by interior Mexico. The Enchiladas Seafood are absolutely phenomenal—loaded with shrimp, sea bass, and salmon, all brought together with a creamy, smoky chipotle sauce and topped with avocado relish. It’s one of the best dishes I’ve had anywhere. The sweet plantains (maduros) are another standout—perfectly prepared with cream and queso fresco. And if you have a sweet tooth, don’t skip dessert: Pastel de Moras (blueberry skillet cake with Mexican vanilla ice cream) is incredible Flan de Queso is rich and perfectly textured Pastel de Chocolate is a must-try as well Everything about Meso Maya—from its history and atmosphere to its food and execution—makes it a true gem in Dallas. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out.”

“From start to finish, the food was exquisitely delicious. We began with the Queso and Guac appetizer which were absolutely perfect and full of flavor. For the main dishes, we had the Cochinita Pibil and the Ribeye Tacos, and both were outstanding, authentic, and incredibly satisfying. The drinks were just as spectacular; the Sueño de Novela and the Mexican Martini were beautifully crafted and the perfect complement to the meal. A special thank you to Valentina G, her attention and dedication truly elevated the entire experience. She was wonderful and made our visit even more enjoyable. Overall, an amazing dining experience. Also wish to thank Manager(?) Fernando for the initial welcome and for looking after us while we were dining. I ordered the cochinita pibil, and loved it. We are talking a symphony of flavor! My wife loved the chicken enchiladas and our kids very much enjoyed the cheese quesadillas. The staff here are consummate professionals in hospitality. We will be back!”

“We had a wonderful experience at Meso Maya, and I especially want to recognize our waiter, Alexis, for truly outstanding service. From the moment we were seated, Alexis was friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all of our questions and explained the specials so clearly and enthusiastically that half of our table ordered the apple martini he recommended, and I chose the halibut dinner, which was absolutely delicious. Alexis made our entire visit feel easy, welcoming, and memorable. His professionalism and genuine hospitality stood out and played a big role in how much we enjoyed our night. Management should know they have someone exceptional on their team. We will definitely be back and will be asking for Alexis again.”
