“You know when you go somewhere and you couldn't be happier with the whole experience? Well, that's what happened when we went to Alewife in Richmond, VA. Reservations were not really necessary on this Thursday night, but I'm glad we made them. I took pictures of all the food because it was love at 1st sight!”

“Alewife rules. Truly incredible menu, fresh, thoughtful, and delicious. You can taste the quality in everything that hits the table. The service is warm, welcoming, and genuinely makes you feel at home. It’s a cornerstone of the neighborhood and the perfect sister spot to Grissette right across the street. Honestly, it’s the best one-two punch there on 32nd St. If you’re anywhere nearby and even thinking about seafood, this is the move. Local spots like this are what make the Church Hill special.”

“Unique, high quality menu with no disappointments! Clean, simple dining room that lets the food speak for its self. We started with some devine oysters, smoked fish dip and a surprise dish of egg salad with asparagus. Our group had a variety of entrees including the skate wing, flash fried whole fish and sea bass. Each perfectly prepared. Highly recommend!”

“The pictures are Fried catfish and Skate Wing. We also had oysters and Smoked fish dip for starters. I didn't remember to take pictures, we had eaten them beforehand. Everything was cooked to perfection. I will come again. This was a pretty birthday celebration for me!”

“Not sure if we ordered wrong or what, but it was a mixed experience. First off, the brunch burger and the vacation vibes drink were outstanding 5/5. However, the clam strips were just good, nothing special. And the arctic char dish seemed incoherent and just wasn't good. I would definitely go back for the burger and my drink, but was hoping to be more wowed by the seafood items we ordered. I will likely go back to try dinner and see if that changes my rating.”
