“Excellent café! Friendly staff. Good food. Nice, relaxing atmosphere. Decent selection of dishes to suit any taste. Loved the egg and bacon that I had. Wasn't a huge wait for the food. Drinks came out very quickly also. If you are in the area, drop in and treat yourself!”
“Brenda's Meat & Three is a place with real, authentic soul. The food feels more like home cooking. And while it may lack a bit of refinement and slightly better quality overall, it makes up for it with comforting flavors and tasty sides. What stands out is the warm and friendly service and genuinely welcoming atmosphere. It is a good spot for an uncomplicated and affordable meal. I always enjoy coming here and can definitely recommend it.”
“Amazing food, amazing service & such a calming atmosphere. Came here for my boyfriends birthday because he was craving soul food. We left a different restaurant because the server was rude to us, so I'm very grateful we found this place instead! Zack/Zach was an absolute gem of a host/server, without even knowing it he really turned our night around. He was super nice & friendly, very helpful when explaining how their menu works & was overall attentive and welcoming. The food was amazing, we got the fried chicken plate & big mamas chicken sandwich. They were both hot, crispy and delicious, love the sauces and peppered jelly it comes with. All the sides that came with our meals were perfect. We had the chocolate chip banana bread pudding for dessert....it was so good, flavorful & overall scrumptious! The atmosphere is so cute and calming, it gives New Orleans vibes and even had a cute seating section in the back that's opened up & technically outside. Overall, we had an outstanding dinner and once again we are very grateful to have found this place & appreciate Zack/Zachs hospitality.”
“3 words: 👏Shrimp. 👏And. 👏Grits. 🤤 The tomato-bacon gravy paired with 6+ tail-on shrimp and the cheesiest perfectly cooked grits. 👩🍳😙👌 The food is delicious and prices are super reasonable, especially for SF. We hadn't been back for quite some time, but upon returning to SF after living abroad, Brenda's is a staple that is good even after all these years. 💓 They have a dog-friendly back patio with heat lamps on request, though it might not be the fastest service if you sit out back. I thought there was also a fairly strong cleaning solution smell, though my hubs wasn't bothered at all by it. We'll be back!”
“We came in shortly after 5pm when they began serving the supper menu, as the lunch menu is available until 5pm. We were seated immediately but as the evening went on more people came in. We ordered their famous fried chicken supper and their BBQ ribs supper. Both came with 3 sides each so we sampled their okra and tomatoes, fries, collard greens, red beans and rice, Mac & cheese, and mashed potatoes. Everything was good and the BBQ sauce for the ribs was quite smokey and tasty. The collard greens and mashed potatoes were a bit too salty for my taste, but that is expected when we eat out as we don’t use much, if any, salt in our own cooking. Service was efficient and I liked the interior decor as well as the outdoor patio dining area in the back of the restaurant.”
