“Awesome historic bar in Santa Monica. I really enjoyed the authentic old-school feel of this place. Drinks are cheap for a place so close to the beach. We didn't eat this time but we have in the past and it was very good. Looking forward to our next visit.”

“First off HOW HAVE I NEVER BEEN HERE? 60 years in SM and yesterday was my first time? That’s crazy. Me and my sisters took my mom for her 85 birthday dinner and dang this place is awesome. Delicious 1934 Manhattan, shrimp scampi and calamari also delicious. My sister had the halibut ❤️’d it , my pasta Diablo (med. heat) was so good, huge shrimps and mommas pork chop was excellent. I’m definitely going back”

“Before my trip this weekend to LA, I asked Microsoft Copilot to help me with an itinerary and to include restaurants that would match both my and my son's pallete. I wanted it to recommend top reviewed places that are not touristy. Copilot recommended The Galley, and I'm so glad it did. I emailed to make a reservation, and The Captain (the owner) called me himself. We chatted a bit and I was even more excited to come. Tonight, not only did the very cool atmosphere live up to reputation, but the service and food was also fantastic. My son and I loved our entrees, and he told me the garlic mashed potatoes were the best he'd ever had. We don't get out to Cali very often, but to anyone in the Santa Monica area, please do yourself a favor and try The Galley. If this place were in my home city, I would want to be a regular.”

“This place is a vibe! Absolutely packed on a Thursday night, even the bar had a wait. Nonetheless we were seated quickly without a reservation. The atmosphere is electric with a buzz of conversation. We shared the shrimp scampi, calamari, house salad and some garlic bread. All were delicious but the scampi stole the show with the lemon sauce. Sorry for the poor photos but the wall to wall holiday lights messed with the exposure. Trust me - all the food looked good and was delicious.”

“Don’t sleep on a visit to the Galley — we have dined here twice and every single item ordered has been cooked to perfection. It’s the best seafood I’ve ever in LA, and that’s coming from a Boston-native— the Salmon and Halibut are truly exceptional, better than perfect. The clam chowder and roasted chicken were equally delicious and flavorful. They have a large, heated patio in the back and are often frequented by a local crowd — one of the best kept secrets in Santa Monica.”
