Espana Restaurant is a Spanish restaurant in the Vancouver West End neighborhood of Vancouver.
“After a day of sight seeing, my wife and daughter joined me for great Tapas dishes at España. Our waiter David was excellent, personable and actually sat down for a minute and asked my ladies about their adventures. Yes, a real human interaction 😃. Our favourites were the #1 eggplant (I was a doubter going), #2 mushrooms, then potatoes and the cod. Kind of a “can’t miss” menu.”
“really cute spot in the west end! they mostly serve tapas, which are small shareable plates so you can try a bit of everything, along with drinks. we ordered a bunch of dishes and everything was delicious. definitely recommend the pork belly and the sangria. cozy atmosphere with nice mood lighting, great for a chill night out.”
“Wonderful experience. Food is delicious, perfect intimate atmosphere, and service is top notch. Best paella in the city - must try with every visit especially since it changes daily. Some of my favourite tapas include the smoked eggplant and stuffed olives. Wine list is great.”
“Absolutely delicious from start to finish. Everything we ordered was incredible, and I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Service was also excellent attentive without being overbearing. Our server struck the perfect balance of checking in when needed while giving us space to enjoy the meal, and his recommendations were spot on. The anchovy olives were a standout being perfectly crispy with great flavour, and not overly fishy for anyone hesitant about anchovies. The mushroom toast was umami-packed, and nicely seasoned (just don’t let it sit too long as it softens the bread). The tuna tartare was fresh and well-balanced. I will say, personally not my favourite served on toast, but still very enjoyable. The paella was excellent, with perfectly cooked shrimp, clams, and crispy pork belly chicharron adding a great salty, fatty crunch. The roasted cabbage was a surprise highlight and honestly one of the best vegetable dishes I’ve had in a while. I could have eaten a whole cabbage the way it was prepared. We finished with churros, and also shared a pitcher of sangria. For a table of three, the total came out to about $68 per person before tip, which felt very reasonable for the quality and quantity. Highly recommend and I will be returning!”
“My dining companion and I were lucky to get seating at all. The place was hopping! You couldn't ask for nicer service. The server was patient and helpful. The Spanish guy (owner???) who carried our food over was equally warm in demeanor. The food was superior. Our appetizer was spectacular, as were our main dishes (see pictures). My son said he would definitely bring a date here. The vibe is immaculate.”
