“When I say everything we ordered was delicious, I genuinely mean that. All the wait staff we interacted with know how to speak French, which made the experience that much better. If you want delicious beef tartare in DC, this is the place to go — it was SO GOOD. The octopus was perfectly cooked and tender, definitely recommend. Overall a wonderful choice for dinner in DC, definitely worth checking out. Their wine selection is also excellent.”
“My girlfriend and I had dinner for the first time at Amelie on Saturday evening and it was undoubtedly one of the best meals we have ever enjoyed. The restaurant is beautiful and pristine clean. The service was incredible, Paul is beyond exceptional and was very attentive and polite! The food itself was outstanding, everything we ordered was clearly made with care and with fresh ingredients. The cheeseburger was the best burger I have ever had and my girlfriend was in love with her ravioli! Then a rhubarb crumble to top it all off! An amazing restaurant will be returning and could not recommend it more!”
“Came here on a Saturday evening as a party of two and were pleasantly surprised to get seated straight away, no wait at all, which was a great start. The place has a really good vibe, busy and lively without feeling overwhelming. Service was friendly and efficient throughout, and pricing felt very reasonable for the quality and location. I had the burger, which was really tasty and well put together. The only slight downside was the fries, which were a bit overdone for my liking, but not enough to take away from the overall experience. Would definitely recommend if you’re after a quick bite in a bustling atmosphere. Would happily come back again.”
“Good French cuisine, great service, but does get loud when the restaurant is busy. We came here for the three course meal that was part of their NYE 25 celebration. Good deal for appetizer, entree, and dessert. Meals were the perfect portion and staff were very attentive.”
“Had dinner here on a busy Saturday night and overall had a good experience with a few things worth noting. The restaurant has a lively vibe and was completely packed. The tables are very close together, so definitely not the place for a quiet, private meal. We started with the escargot, which was excellent. The snails were tender, the garlic-parsley butter was rich and flavorful, and it was a strong start to the meal. My only critique was for the bread service: it didn’t arrive until our appetizer was already on the table, and it came out plain with nothing to spread on it. A good French butter, and bringing it out before the appetizer, would have elevated the start. For our entrées, we ordered the scallops special and the steak frites. The scallops were beautifully seared. Presentation was elegant and the dish felt well thought out. The steak frites, on the other hand, were a bit of a mixed experience. The steak was cooked to the correct temperature and was seasoned nicely, but the cut itself was just… not great. It was very chewy. So, although it was technically prepared well, it still wasn’t really enjoyable. The fries, were crisp and seasoned just right. Service was friendly and fairly attentive considering how busy it was. Food came out at a very good pace and everything was nicely plated. Overall, aside from the room for some minor improvements, it was a decent dining experience. I’d return to give it another try some time.”
