“This review is for three different occasions. My boyfriend loves this place so he recommended that I come here and I see why the location is very convenient. Parking is so easy to find and the interior of this place is very very, very beautiful so if you’re a big photo person, I’d recommend coming here. As well as they are known for their famous bread basket, but I did try. When we come here, we typically get the egg omelette with no cheese. I know it’s a crime and my boyfriend normally gets the club sandwich with the bucket of fries. It’s your classic French place. And it’s honestly pretty affordable. It’s like 20 to 25 a person before tip. And most of the time when we go, there is always a group of girls there being a little bit drunk so we can kind of have our conversation and not worry about the person next to us being so close to listening and and this is really like a nice place to laugh and giggle. The service is always up to par and I do recommend being seated towards the outside section because the lighting there is unmatched and they have real growing plants that drape over the ceiling, which I think is very beautiful.”
“We have been to Paris and eaten at exactly the same type of restaurant there. The food here was in some ways better. Bread is exceptional, wine is very well curated. Steak frites was top notch. Seafood plateau was excellent. Crème brûlée was 100% french. Madeleine was also top notch. We spied other tables and their food was excellent looking and tasting according to the couple we asked. The other couple was clearly having an affair and was not interested in providing feedback. Please go. Restaurants like this are needed in a world of corporate BS. Bravo. We really lived it up so we were $300 for lunch including a bottle of wine and another glass each plus coffee and dessert. Totally worth it. Sit inside for the true french vibe.”
“Classy, intimate interior with an equally sophisticated menu. Wide variety of options and a huge drink selection, especially for wine lovers. Our server was kind enough to offer having all of our dishes split into separate plates since my girl and I always share our meals. He also thoroughly broke down the menu so it’s safe to say that the service was elite. We started off with the french onion soup which was excellent and even had my non onion enjoying date swayed. We ended with the new york steak and braised beef, the ladder of which was exceptional. It had an amazing tenderness and texture that paired incredibly well with the rich, buttery mash potatoes. The steak was a little bit over peppered but cooked incredibly well with a very nice gravy. It melted in your mouth. The spinach with it was another highlight with brilliantly cooked garlic cloves integrated in to give it an incredibly unique flavor. Highly recommend giving this place a visit.”
“The whole experience was stellar. Pablo was our server, and it was truly the best service we’ve had in Washington. He was knowledgeable about the menu, offered fantastic recommendations, and made our dining experience feel really special. He was attentive and quick to take care of anything we needed. We ordered the steak frites, onion soup, and steak tartare, and every dish was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back here the next time I’m in Washington.”
“I stopped by here for a solo lunch and had an overall good experience. The restaurant has a very nice, charming atmosphere. They start you off with a nice variety of bread in the basket, which was a lovely touch. For the food, the French onion soup was absolutely delicious, definitely a must-order item! The warm shrimp salad was decent and the madeleine at dessert was very nice. On the downside, the shrimp cocktail was a bit underwhelming and the creme brulee was just okay. Still, it's a lovely spot with great vibes, and I enjoyed my lunch.”
