“I had their lobster linguini. And then a cappuccino afterwards. Which were great. Of course, it’s about more than just the food at Cafe Milano. It’s more of a social gathering type of place. The food is secondary to the social aspect of it. But my focus was more on the food. And the food is great. The service was even better. Top notch service.”

“Nice Christmas decorations. Simply best Italian restaurant in DC.. Grilled calamari was so tender and juicy and cauliflower soup is full of flavor with truffle. Holiday specials main dishes like squid ink pasta and dover/branzino are super tasty. Tiramisu for dessert is never disappointing.”

“We visited Café Milano again this Christmas Eve — our second year in a row — and once again had a wonderful experience. The service here is consistently excellent. Every server we’ve had has been attentive, professional, and warm. You can tell the staff really care about making sure guests are taken care of, and that level of attentiveness makes a big difference, especially on a busy holiday night. The food was good both times we visited. Although the portions are on the smaller side. Still, we enjoyed it. The only downside for us is the spacing and acoustics of the restaurant. The tables are quite close together, and with how busy it gets, you often have to raise your voice just to hear the person sitting next to you. The space feels a bit tight, and the noise level can take away from the dining atmosphere. Overall, though, Café Milano continues to be a great holiday tradition for us. The excellent service, quality food, and festive energy keep us coming back.”

“Avoid this place at all costs! It's a textbook tourist trap. If you are looking for authentic Italian food, go elsewhere. This place is for people who unfortunately don't know any better. ​The Food is Disaster. I'm shocked by the low quality of the ingredients. The tomato sauce tastes straight out of a cheap can. And the mushrooms were clearly preserved in oil ("sott'olio") and just thrown on the plate, not fresh at all. It's an insult to Italian cuisine. ​The Atmosphere and Service are a total mess. The restaurant was an absolute chaos, as noisy as a fish market. The staff is incredibly unprofessional: ​I actually saw the male waiters secretly drinking the leftover wine from customers' bottles instead of pouring the full contents. It's disgusting and dishonest. ​The female servers, instead of working, were just huddled in the middle of the room gossiping among themselves, completely ignoring the tables. ​To make matters worse, our food arrived before our drinks. A total dining disaster from start to finish. ​The Wine is a Complete Rip-off. The wine list is incredibly expensive. They are charging 4 or 5 times the regular price for very mediocre bottles. ​Final Verdict: Do not waste your money and time at Caffè Milano. There is so much better food to be found in the city. Go and explore, and stay far away from this place!”
