“The food and wine were fabulous. Not a huge selection for either which I think is better. Keeping the options smaller meant perfecting what they do well. We 3 shared a salad, the cauliflower and potatoes as appetizers and all were excellent. We also shared two pastas which were quite good. The service was attentive and pleasant also. The dining area was fairly loud so I would not recommend this spot for a romantic dinner or business meeting but it's great for a friend's group out.”
“Great atmosphere for a date night or catching up with friends. The space feels lively but still intimate, and the service was attentive throughout our visit. The pasta was solid overall, freshly made with a nice chewy texture. Lamb Ragu Rigatoni and Gramigna are our favorites. They are great to order together and share since the flavors and ingredients are quite different. We also tried two other pastas with tomato-based sauces. They were fresh but leaned a bit too acidic for my taste. Personally, I preferred the richer, braised-style sauces. The lounge area hosts a martini hour during the week, which is very popular. The drinks are great and the prices are quite reasonable. It does get crowded and you may end up standing. They currently run a Monday dinner pasta special, with many pastas around half price. That’s probably the best time to go if you want the best value. Overall, a fun spot with a great vibe, especially for drinks and sharing a few pastas.”
“First time trying Cucina Morini and got to dine during restaurant week! While waiting for our last friend, we had martinis at the bar for Martini Hour which is a DEAL. $7 and I had the Calla Rossp which was a fun, fruity drink! 🍸 For restaurant week we had the burrata (fantastic), gnocchi and spaghetti w/ mussels (both were amazing), and the gelato sundae (one of the BEST desserts I have had at a restaurant). To top it off, this 3 course dinner was only $40, one of the best deals you can get! Not only were the food and drinks fantastic, but service was quite stellar. A shout out to Carlos for bringing ALL the vibes on a Friday night from the start and attentively checking on us ladies! 🫶🏾 I cannot wait to come back here and thank you for a top-notch dining experience ✨️”
“This is hands down the best Italian restaurant in D.C. for me right now. Every dish I tried was incredibly delicious and tasted truly fresh — you can tell a lot of care goes into the ingredients and the cooking. What I especially love is that they offer small side portions, which makes it perfect for ordering multiple items and sharing everything together. It turns the whole meal into a fun, communal experience. The service was also excellent — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I’ve already been back twice, and honestly, I know I’ll be coming back again. This place has officially earned my number one spot for Italian food in D.C.”
“what a perfect vibey spot for some incredibly delicious italian food! definitely get the treviso salad and the fried blossoms to start. i could eat so many plates of their mushroom cream ravioli! i’ll be returning for more of that next time for sure. the lamb chops were also so flavorful. the service was also fantastic and they were so nice! adding this spot to the dinner night rotation”
