“Absolutely amazing!!👏🏽 Authentic Japanese dining and the service is impeccable. Friendly atmosphere and the owners, Eric & Miki, made my fiancée and I feel like we were back in Okinawa during our military service.”
“Phenomenal food every single time! This place has become a favorite for my friends and me. The authentic, home-style cooking is incredible, and their chicken karaage is a must-try!”
“Kaiseki craving satisfied! Ko Japanese Dining, a family-owned restaurant serving authentic Japanese fare in Dupont Circle might just be our new favorite. Mom Mikki is head chef, her daughter is sous chef, her older son is the bartender, and her younger son runs the front of the house. 🥹💕Exquisite food and impeccable service! 🍽 Six-course kaiseki menu: ▪︎ Platter of small plates (tamago with unagi, caramelized pork belly, shrimp dumpling with lotus root, braised beef with potatoes and veggies, squid salad, and pickled veggies) ▪︎ Assorted sashimi (tuna, fatty tuna, yellowtail, and seafood bream) ▪︎ Chawan mushi (savory egg custard) ▪︎ Melt-in-your-mouth grilled wagyu ▪︎ Tempura shrimp, squid and seasonal veggies served with rice and miso soup ▪︎ Vanilla ice cream with macha sauce”
“Wouldn’t come back ever. Not worth price, not the best quality. You step in and all the servers hanging out at the bar. The owner is apparently at the cherry blossom festival and the son is hanging out at the bar: No one knows which dry sake to recommend, not even trying to ask an AI. The sushi is mushy with too much rice, definitely not worth the price. Come here if you want Kroger grade sushi to fill your belly. Or leave disappointed for the price and quality.”
“Ok idk if our expectations r too high from the google rating but this is prob the worst Japanese place I've ever been to, i would give it a 0 if it was an option. The service was not good to begin with. The server we had wouldn’t bring anything unless we explicitly asked. The yakiniku was overly salty I could finish the whole rice. The miso soup was really confusing cuz it was fishy and the ginger flavor was really strong. Price was kinda expensive too I feel like this is more expensive than even some nyc japanese restaurants. Also they charge 10% tariff fee, ik its prob not their fault but I would expect the food to be good if ur charging that much.”
