“🌟 I've passed by 100 times, but I've been waiting for a special occasion to pop in. — Yesterday was the day! 💎 I had a special guest coming into town to present for The National Speakers Association, so I called Martins and they accommodated my request perfectly. 📝 My guest and I sat in "The Rumble Booth." – This is where JKF wrote his Inauguration speech and sat frequency on Sundays after mass. 🍅 We each got the clam chowder and we shared the Fried Green Tomatoes and Shephards Pie. All of it was solid. 🦸‍♂️ I cannot, cannot remember our server's name, but he was great. 📸 The manager was kind, and helpful – he gladly took some photos for us. 🌟 Overall, it was a wonderful experience!”

“All around excellent experience. We did not have a reservation but stayed patient & were seated within 10 minutes & it was worth it. Seared tuna with wasabi and soy dipping sauces was probably the highlight but the calamari with amazing too. Burger was very solid. It can get a little loud on a Friday night but still one of the better dining experiences in DC. Would go back!”

“We are in DC visiting relatives who suggested Martin’s Tavern. I am so glad they did. It’s a top tier restaurant with outstanding service. I would suggest having it on your restaurants to experience list when in DC. I also discovered it dates back to 1933, is family owned, and holds a tremendous amount of history. We ate at the Harry Truman booth. They advertise that all the presidents from Truman through George W Bush ate there. I learned all of this from Solomon who has worked there for 27 years.”

“Food is good and restaurant vibe is very cute. Lobster risotto wasnt on the lunch menu but the kitchen was nice enough to accommodate. The only reason I am giving a 4 star instead of a 5 is because i do think the food, as good as they were, were a little too pricey. A plate of appetite - 4 tiny crab cakes should not cost $21. I came here expecting the lobster risotto to be $56 so I will let that one go but a lunch meal when we only ordered a side salad, an appetizer and a risotto should not be costing $110 total. A heads up for any first time comer here - they automatically charge you a non optional 6% operational fee which they claim “helps to run the restaurant with minimum wage” so tip accordingly. Other than the price point, it was a pretty nice restaurant to hang out and the staff were also very friendly.”

“This place holds history in the air.. host was great! we are glad to be sat in “the proposal book” on last Sunday that was the high point after that all downhill… Negroni was subpar… server was rude.. my wife is gluten free so server told her to get “piece of fish or meat” first we thought he was joking then it appears that what he actually meant… her salmon was fine but she lost appetite after that mannerism or behavior from waiter… my seafood pasta was ok… kiddo liked his chicken parm… our appetizer crab cake and bread pudding with ice cream was good… not coming back… this one time was plenty!”
