Cha Yen Thai Cookery is a Thai restaurant in the Watertown neighborhood of Watertown.
“This place is awesome. Went there on a Friday (friend we were meeting suggested it) and we were blown away by their awesome cocktail program! We had a party of 5 and we each ordered something different and every single drink was inventive and delicious and so different. Their food and dessert was amazing too and very reasonable price for such a high quality meal!”
“We visited this Thai restaurant today and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious, and the quality was excellent. Service was attentive and efficient. We ordered a few starters along with a main course and Thai iced teas, and everything was flavorful and well prepared. A great overall experience. They also customise according to your spice tolerance and allergies. I would highly recommend this place!”
“Cha Yen Thai Cookery is phenomenal! I live in Rhode Island and have been several times, and each visit is amazing. The atmosphere is beautiful, open, and smells incredible—it feels warm, welcoming, and like home. The food is outstanding—fresh, high-quality ingredients in every dish. The fried rice, noodles, curry, and Wagyu burgers are all delicious. The service is attentive and friendly, and the bartenders make phenomenal drinks. I always have such a wonderful experience and can’t wait to come back!”
“Delicious, flavorful and upscale-ish Thai food. Menu has loads of options, including several small plates. Most items on the menu could be made vegetarian or be adjusted to be gluten-free, so the restaurant is able to handle first restrictions. Highly recommend the wagyu sliders and cocktails. They have a unique list of cocktails that blend coconut, pandan, and tropical fruits. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Entree portion size is right for one person (unlike typically large fastfood style options). We were two people and ordered two starters , two drinks, one entree, and one dessert - which was plenty of food and was ~$50/person (with tip).”
“Cozy Watertown gem with delicious Thai dishes and friendly service. Seating area was sectioned with casual tables at front and few sofa tables at the back near bar area. Only issue was our table was literally attached to serving station, creating uneasy atmosphere throughout our dinner, as they prepped water cups, clattering dishes..they should consider placing a partition in between. -Tom yum soup $6 obvious starter we must try at all Thai restaurants and did not disappoint. Spicy broth with mushrooms, cilantro, scallion and shrimp for choice of protein -Pad Thai $15 rice noodle was thinner than what's generally used and we liked it. It seemed better for flavor absorption and was one of the best pad Thai I've had in GBA. Perfectly stir fried and full of flavor. -Crab meat fried rice $17 light and fluffy fried rice with crab meat, egg, carrott, onion, green peas, scallion. -Panang curry reminded us of curry dish we had when we visited Thailand! Fragrant and fresh herb and pack of complex flavor. Spicy green beans, lime leaves, pepper , basil with protein choice of chicken. -Egg plant basil spicy eggplant, Chilli, peppers and basil. Had strong soy sauce flavor which was somewhat off balance for my liking and unusual for a Thai dish. -Matcha ice cream $12 loved the strong matcha flavor! -Mango sticky rice $10 sweet sticky rice with mango fruit Will definitely revisit to try more dishes!”
