“We went here for Mother’s Day brunch and had the most lovely experience. The restaurant was able to make the holiday feel elegant AND still welcomed young children. The food was overwhelming good, and the price was more than fair. I hope to return soon, and thank you to all the staff who made the experience so wonderful!!!”

“I’ve been living in West Hartford for the past five years, and have visited Avert countless times. The food has always been amazing and so is the atmosphere. I’ve decided to leave a review today simply because how amazing they handled some unexpected situation today. We had a reservation on resy at 7:45, but didn’t get seated until 8:05 because the previous table took quite some time to pay. I understand that it’s a situation that’s slightly outside of the restaurant’s control, but I’ve got some passive aggressive comments from the host while checking in for the situation after we’ve been waiting for 15+ minutes. The manager handled it really well after I explained the situation to him. I was ready to just leave the restaurant with a one star review at that moment but our lovely waitress Cindy and him really came in and saved our night. Cindy was really patient listening to us, and the manager offered us a charcuterie board along with the whole appetizers on the house. They responded to the situation with great care and sincerity. I truly felt that our experience as customers were valued there, just like all my previous amazing experiences at this place. The food was absolutely amazing as always, and thanks to the team and our wonderful waitress Cindy my family ended up having another great night dining at Avert. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone (like I had been doing). But I thought I’d leave a comment here just for how nicely they responded to tonight’s situation. “A guaranteed culinary experience that makes you want to return for more (which I have over and over again! We even had our son’s high school graduation dinner here with our family from out of town). Every menu offers something special, but I love a good brunch and Avert delivers. Service, cuisine, atmosphere - not a large restaurant, so there is a sense of intimacy to it. Walk-ins are always welcome, but it’s a treasure, so reservations recommended.”

“Avert Brasserie offers a lovely Sunday brunch experience. I chose the artichoke and spinach omelette with melted Swiss cheese, and it was delicious and satisfying. The service was a little slow, but our server was kind and reassuring, letting us know our dishes were on the way. Parking directly in front of the restaurant isn’t ideal since it’s almost always packed, but there is a convenient parking garage about one block away, which helps. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by a huge red curtain—what a delightful and unexpected surprise. Overall, a charming brunch spot with great ambiance and flavorful food. 🌞🍳”
