“our server, Lyndan, was absolutely incredible, as was the food. as someone who works in semi- fine dining, you always notice the little things, and service was nothing short of perfection. we celebrated my boyfriends birthday tonight through a recommendation, and before the food even hit the table we knew we were coming back again and again. every possible question we had, there was a well thought out answer, and the food itself was spectacular. for someone who doesnt really eat oysters, these were the best and freshest oysters ive ever tried. the house made mignonette as well as fresh hot sauce made them divine. we shared several small plates and each others entrees and luckily had leftovers to go. plates disappeared before we even realized, and were returned boxed up without even processing they left. everything was cooked to perfection. we lived in NYC for a couple of years, yet nothing has topped the experience we had this evening. i thanked our friend who recommended us before dinner was even over. thank you Lyndan and Circa for an incredible and memorable night! even though we’re an hour away, we hope to be back soon.”
“Circa never disappoints! Outstanding service, great food choices, and tasty meals. Our latest outing was a graduation celebration and everything was perfect from the drinks, to the appetizers, entrées, and dessert. The live piano music just adds to the ambience. The timing and presentation were flawless. Our server was attentive and we never lacked for anything. I’ve eaten here many times and the food quality and service is always consistent.”
“We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Circa 1922! From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless. The hostess was warm and attentive, and we were seated right on time for our reservation. The ambiance was inviting and perfect for a night out. Our waitress, Alison, was impeccable. She was kind, funny, incredibly attentive to detail, and genuinely personable. She truly elevated our entire experience. The drinks were delicious and expertly crafted. For appetizers, we ordered the crab dip (which was amazing!) and the calamari, perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. For our entrées, I had the filet, and it was cooked to absolute perfection. My husband ordered the duck, it was very good, just a bit fattier than he prefers, which was more about the cut than the preparation. Our friends ordered the flounder and a seafood platter (I can’t remember the exact name), and she said it was the best flounder she’s had in a very long time! We chose Circa 1922 on a whim and are so glad we did. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!”
“Great ambiance, great service, and a wonderfully knowledgeable waiter who walked us through the menu with confidence and enthusiasm. We started with some awesome local oysters, the tuna tataki, the burrata, and the crispy Brussels sprouts (the other appetizer!) — all of which were fantastic. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. For entrées, the paella was honestly some of the best I’ve ever had — rich, thick sauce, tons of finely chopped chorizo, and scallops cooked to absolute perfection. The filet was also cooked perfectly: extremely tender, melt-in-your-mouth, and packed with flavor. Dessert was top-notch as well. Highly recommend the cheesecake and the bread pudding — both were outstanding and the perfect finish to the meal. If you’re visiting the area and looking for fine dining, you have to go here. Highly, highly recommend Circa 1922.”
“We dined at Circa for New Year’s Eve and had mixed feelings about the experience. The menu was well planned and accurately reflected the dishes that were served, and the food itself was good—this was definitely the highlight of the night and deserves credit. The drinks, however, were average and nothing out of the ordinary. For my personal taste, they were made a bit too strong and lacked balance. We made a 10:00 PM reservation specifically hoping to ring in the New Year at the restaurant, as many places offer a midnight toast or some form of celebration. Unfortunately, we were informed during the evening that the restaurant would be closing at 11:30 PM. This left us scrambling right before midnight, surrounded by intoxicated crowds downtown, which was not the experience we had planned or expected. To add to that, our waitress seemed rushed throughout the night and repeatedly mentioned needing to be home by midnight. Because of this, the service felt hurried, and I didn’t even finish my second drink. Overall, I was disappointed with the NYE experience. While the food quality was good, the lack of celebration, early closing, and rushed service made this a night I wouldn’t choose to repeat for a special occasion like New Year’s Eve.”
