Circa 1918 Kitchen + Bar is a New American restaurant in the Hilton Village neighborhood of Newport News.
“Small unassuming entrance to a transformative culinary experience. Fantastic mood and vibe. Stellar service. Food and drink selection rotates and is incredible. Worth the elevated dining experience in Hilton Village.”
“Spectacular in every way. Chad, Kip, and their entire staff go out of their way to ensure you have the best experience. I met them for the first time catering a wedding (I am also a vendor). Their catered food was out of this world. So good that I had to make the drive to Newport News to eat in the restaurant. To say they delivered would be an understatement. James at the bar makes the most delicious, creative, elaborate cocktails. The Blood Oath was my favorite! Their fried oysters were our favorite dish— crispy and a little spicy! The duck was so unique, sweet and savory, and cooked excellently. My husband is now obsessed with their banana foster cheesecake. Everything we had was truly perfect and we are so impressed. We will be loyal fans of Circa 1918 for life!”
“10/10 would definitely recommend! We found this place on tik tok and our friend chose to dine here. So glad we did. Our server Joey was extremely fun, inviting, and knowledgable about everything that touched our table. He accommodated our vegetarian friend with excellent recommendations. We sat outside and enjoyed a lovely spring evening. Thank you circa1918 for a great time, great food, and great ambience.”
“Excellent food, service, ambience. Smaller restaurant so you will be sitting closer to others but the ambience and service make up for it. The food and drinks are incredible. We had the octopus app, scallop/ lamb bacon chef special and the shrimp risotto. It all was cooked perfectly. The dinner is one we will remember!”
“This is my second time here, this time I was able to bring my husband. We went to celebrate my 60th birthday for an early dinner. To our pleasant surprise, the special was a short rib dish which we both ordered and loved. As always, the sample brought out from the chef was mouth-watering and got our taste buds tingling. We also had the lobster bisque soup, the depth of flavor was incredible. In between we got the ahi tacos which were so flavorful, fresh and delicious. Just a delicious meal from start to finish.”
