The first Farzi Café opened in 2014 in the modern and thriving city of Gurgaon, 30 kilometres southwest of India’s national capital, New Delhi. Serving contemporary, pan-Indian dishes, it gained instant public and critical acclaim for its inventive, evolved menus - rich and complex - that focussed on the finest quality ingredients. Coupled with an energy and attentiveness in service and its vibrant and bustling atmosphere, Farzi Café quickly became a culinary hotspot for locals and visitors alike. With award-winning chef and India’s most acclaimed young talents overseeing the kitchens, the menu at Farzi Cafe offers contemporary Indian dishes and global classics, with whimsical nods to traditional favorites. The restaurant’s bar team has worked closely with some of most celebrated mixologists to create a list of experiential cocktails with flavours of which are elevated using the very latest equipment, including centrifugal machines and a sonic homogeniser.
“Absolutely delicious food with creative spins on classic Indian food. The staff are friendly and helpful. Arrive before the main dinner rush otherwise service might be slow. Order a few dishes to try out the variety!”
“Farzi Cafe continues to be my go-to place whenever I’m craving a refined Indian fine dining experience. I’ve always loved the food, ambience, and overall experience here. The servers are attentive and friendly. The menu changes seasonally and they regularly introduce new dishes. What stands out most is the way Farzi reimagines classic Indian dishes with a contemporary twist, while still preserving their authentic flavours. This time, I tried the dal chawal arancini, Prawnstar, mutton curry, and paneer kofta with naan. Every dish was excellent, but the Prawnstar was especially delicious and creative. One of my personal favorites is the achari chicken tacos! I’d highly recommend Farzi Café to anyone looking to enjoy authentic Indian food; reimagined and presented with a contemporary touch.”
“Farzi never lets me down! And our last dinner there was exceptionally amazing thanks to our server, Jeff🙏 His recommendations were all on point. We had Pani Puri, Flamed Grilled Lamb Chops, Pressure Cooker Mutton Curry, Butter Chicken, and some Naan - They were all delicious! The Sticky Toffee Puding was rich but not overly sweet. It’s very close to our favorite in Scotland:) Jeff also picked us the best wines to our tastes. The most important for us is the fresh ingredients Farzi always uses. Ambience was great as usual.”
“The food was exceptional. Cliff was a really good server. He was busy and made sure we had what needed! The lamb chops were absolutely delicious. The pani puri was so refreshing and delicious! The naan was fresh and flavorful. The cocktails weren't the greatest but they were beautiful. The only thing I would point out as a not so great thing was the mats in the restaurant and bathroom were really really dirty! It was so bad it was noticeably problematic. The restaurant is too beautiful for that stark contrast in cleanliness. I would certainly go back. I wish they had windows so people could see the beauty of it and could feel welcomed to come in. When they launched it felt super exclusive but I think that may now impact traffic to this good restaurant in the heart of Downtown Bellevue.”
“Farzi has always been one of my favorite cafés in Hyderabad, India. so I was excited to try their Washington location too. The staff were upfront that the menu here is tailored to local flavors, and I could definitely feel that difference, the food was okay but lacked the spice I usually enjoy. It’s more of a fine-dining setup, so the portions felt small for the price. Overall, it’s worth trying once for the experience, but it doesn’t quite match the charm of the Hyderabad branch.”
