Charleston) featuring Italian comfort cuisine with a menu driven by local seasonal ingredients and a homestyle feel. The word Fratello in Italian refers to fraternity or brother. “Just ate here this evening. After unexpected plans failed we decided to find a spot in Park Circle for dinner. Stopped at this little spot and WOW I’m so glad we did! Walked in and they said they had reservations but so graciously let us have a table outside. I think they could see I was really hungry and so were my two little ones. They explained the menu and specials well. I went with the tortellini pasta they had special and YUMMM. Definitely the best I’ve had. Kids loved their food and the service was very quick and the two ladies were so nice! Will be back again for a date night because this is the perfect spot!”
“Five of us guys had an impromptu gathering last night and we decided to meet here. I’d been once before and sat at the bar and had a great experience. I have to say it was a repeat performance! The bolognese recommendation from our server was tremendous, one of the best versions I’ve tried, and I’ve tried many. (Bolognese is the dish I use as my gauge for Italian restaurants. I mean if you can’t make a simple traditional Italian dish like Bolognese then what can you do, right?!) Atmosphere is an especially comfortable and unique version of old and new school which ties the whole experience together. Everyone on the staff we interacted with was casually professional, sharp, and very friendly. Our waitress, whose name I wish I could remember, (she was thin, wore glasses, had brown hair, and long pig tails, very pretty) was delightful. Just the right amount of attention and very insightful on the menu. If I ever get her name I’ll ask for her specifically, she made the evening “next-level”. We did not have desert because, fortunately or unfortunately, we had too much bread slathered in olive oil and a particularly flavorful balsamic vinegar on the table. This will toggle for my first or second favorite Italian spot in the area! Bravissimo!🇮🇹”
“Fratello’s is an unpretentious, delicious Italian restaurant. The handcrafted, meticulously detailed wooden bar is a sight to behold. The food is superb. The atmosphere, wonderful. All of the staff is friendly and engaging — but not overly engaging. I’ve lived within a mile of it for more than six months but hadn’t yet tried it. I’m glad I did tonight.”
“We stopped by Fratellos Italian Tavern for lunch and had an excellent experience! We started with the calamari, which was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside and tender inside. For our main dishes, we had the Pollo alla Parmigiana and the Pollo con Pepe sandwiches. Both were outstanding! The bread was fresh and had just the right amount of crunch, while the chicken was crispy and well-seasoned. The toppings were flavorful and balanced everything beautifully. The service was friendly and attentive, and the outdoor atmosphere was warm and sunny. We’ll definitely be back to try more of their lunch entrees.”
“We were visiting Charleston, South Carolina, and for lunch, we visited Fratello's Italian Tavern. We managed to find roadside parking just a short distance away from the restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant, we were surprised to find that it was completely empty, with no other customers present. We got our table and Nicole, our server, brought us the menus. After talking with her, we decided on the Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken and the Pollo con Pepe. Since the restaurant was pretty empty for lunch on the weekend, we were a little unsure about the food. While we were waiting for our order, the server brought us our bread and butter. The bread and butter was really good, and it was a great start to our lunch. Soon, our plates arrived, which had pasta and a sandwich. We started with pasta and it was delicious! The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce was creamy and smooth. My toddler also loved it. It was a great way to start our lunch. We also had the Pollo Con Pepe, which is our chicken sandwich. Everyone in our group loved it! The bread was fresh, and the chicken was well-seasoned and just the right amount of crunch. Fratello's Italian Tavern was a great place for lunch.”
