A neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of South Granville with an open kitchen, bar seating and a cozy dining room. Small, shareable dishes define the menu here with seasonality having a huge influence. We keep our wine-list short, sharp and dynamic with an ever-evolving selection of wines that champion producers who follow a low-intervention approach to farming & winemaking.
“Underrated neighborhood restaurant in Vancouver. Best chicken cordon bleu I have ever tried. All other dishes are fantastic as well. No rush service and great attention for details. Also good cocktails list.”
“Ladies night out for 4 and we ordered menu for the table. Basically we had everything on the menu. Everything is fantastic from ingredients to cooking and plating. Price is reasonable but when i add everything up on the menu divided by 4, it’s actually almost the same price as Menu for the Table 😅 I personally like the pork collar and chocolate mousse the best. Restaurant is a bit noisy but cozy and casual.”
“We have been to Gary’s twice. We liked it even more the second time. The vibe was so comfortable that it felt like we were having dinner at a friend’s place. The service was personal and casual yet very professional and attentive. The food was amazing. They deserve all the hype.”
“Exceeded all expectations! Our server, Peter, was incredibly attentive and on top of everything throughout the night. The chicken liver was so good we had to order a second round, and the cocktails were just as impressive. Every dish we tried was outstanding! Easily some of the best food we’ve had in Vancouver. A 100/10 experience!”
“This was my second time dining at Gary’s, and once again I chose the table menu at $73 per person—the same menu I had back in July. Both visits did not disappoint. The food is truly what keeps bringing me back. The vegetables are incredibly fresh and locally sourced from Steveston, which really shows in both flavor and quality. I appreciate the variety of dishes, and everything felt thoughtfully prepared. This time, we were seated at the bar. While the food was excellent, the service was not as memorable. Throughout the meal, we were never asked how our food was, which is why I rated the service three stars. A bit more attentiveness would have made the experience feel more complete. The atmosphere is dark with dim lighting, making it a great spot for a date or an intimate dinner. However, the wooden chairs were quite uncomfortable, especially for a meal that lasted close to two hours. Overall, the food is a solid five stars and very reasonably priced for the quality. With improved service and more comfortable seating, this place would be close to perfect.”
