“If you’re anywhere near Windsor and not making a reservation at Gladstone Commons, you’re seriously missing out. The atmosphere is dark, warm, and deeply inviting, the kind of space that immediately slows you down and makes you settle in. There’s a quiet confidence to the room—nothing flashy, just rich tones, soft lighting, and an energy that feels both intimate and alive. It’s the kind of place where you lean in a little closer, where conversations feel better, and where time slips by without you noticing. The drinks hold their own beautifully—thoughtfully crafted, well-balanced, and perfectly suited to the mood of Gladstone Commons. Each one felt intentional, adding to the experience rather than just accompanying it. And then the food arrives—and completely steals the show. Every dish was so thoughtfully crafted, so dialed in, that we genuinely couldn’t pull ourselves away long enough to document it. I kept saying I should grab a photo of the next plate, but everything was just too good. By the time I thought of it, the dish was gone. The only picture I managed to take? Dessert. And even that felt like I was interrupting a well curated experience. Each course was layered, balanced, and deeply satisfying without ever feeling heavy. You can tell there’s real care behind every plate—not just in how it looks, but in how it lands. This is the kind of place you go when you want to feel taken care of—when you want an experience that’s both grounded and elevated. Go. Be present. And don’t count on getting many photos—you’ll be too busy enjoying yourself.”
“Cozy neighborhood restaurant and bar that served me and my family one of the most delicious meals we've had anywhere. Crossed the border into Windsor on a Friday afternoon for dinner with my family. The restaurant is located in a neighborhood so it might be difficult to find if you weren't specifically looking for it. While the heavy snow fall on the day of our visit meant I couldn't quite sort out if there was on-site parking at all, there was ample street parking so it wasn't a point of stress. The interior was warmly lit and lovely exposed brick and large windows. Our server and other staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and absolutely made us feel welcome. All of that said, the food is the absolute star here. We each enjoyed a different dish which was incredibly flavorful and delicious. We started with cocktails (and a custom mocktail for my kids) and a seasonal butter and bread service. Entrees included lamb, salmon, pasta, and a scallops and pork dish, all of which blow well beyond those simple descriptions in terms of flavor. Even the salmon, which I find most restaurants struggle to get right, was perfect and had the thinnest caramelized crust that made every bite incredible. And so it was with every dish, these subtle surprising touches that made every bite so deeply enjoyable. Sticky Toffee is also a must have for dessert. I'm basically looking for an excuse to go back here as much as possible.”
“YUM. You can definitely tell this is farm to table, everything was so fresh and flavorful. My favorites were the pasta dish and bread. Pasta sauce was creamy and flavorful but should have been a bigger dish for the price. Pork belly and scallops dish was well-plated but not too flavorful, and I liked the sauce on the duck wings. Bonus for service, super fast and willing to help. You won’t be disappointed :)”
“Gladstone Commons was the highlight of our day in Windsor. Tucked into a Walkerville neighborhood, it has that busy open-kitchen energy while still feeling relaxed and friendly. The staff make you feel like a regular on your first visit, which is exactly what you want on date night. Start with the bread and butter (4.5/5). The sourdough and seasonal whipped butter are reason enough to sit down. The tuna tartare was the surprise standout (5/5). Citrus, cucumber, pickled onions, and tuna all play together so you get light, crisp, and rich in each bite rather than just a pile of fish. Great texture and balance. Crispy duck wings (4/5) come in a generous portion, about four or five meaty wings. They are cooked perfectly (fall off the bone) and glazed in a lightly sweet barbecue with little brittle bits for crunch. I would have liked slightly less sauce so the duck could shine more, but they are still very easy to keep picking at. The bistro chicken (4.5/5) feels like a "regulars" dish. The pearl onions and whipped cheese curd mash are ridiculously good, like a cross between aligot and poutine in the best way, with seasonal vegetables on top. The chicken is well cooked, but I kept coming back to the mash. The GC cheeseburger (4/5) is another come-back order. It is just a really well done burger with great fries. No weird twists, just good meat, melted rruyere, and a pile of fries you keep reaching for. Next time I may ask for it a touch rarer. We will absolutely be back. I was eyeing plates of lamb and other mains at nearby tables the whole night. Plenty of reasons to return.”
“Had an incredible dining experience at Gladstone Commons for my birthday dinner. For the duration of our time there the staff had a great attention to detail, providing a terrific atmosphere. We had the Wednesday Prix Fixe and everything was flavourful and delicious. Will be back!”
