“First time here and what an exciting surprise! Made a quick last minute reso here as I was in town for a team meeting with some colleagues and it was conveniently around the corner. To our surprise, it was half price oyster night! Our server was excellent! I wish I caught his name, darn. Very attentive, polite, and overall wonderful service. The food was delicious! We tried the Korean chicken, tacos, truffle fries, burgers and, of course, the oysters (which were very clean and crisp)! Will 100% be back with friends!”
“I can be a little picky at times, but I always try to give credit where it's due. What impressed me most at Wilcox was the teamwork, dedication, and positive atmosphere created by the staff. A special mention goes to Jacob and Veronica, who provided exceptional service throughout my visits. They are always smiling, friendly, welcoming, and took the time to genuinely engage with guests. Their positive attitude and professionalism made a significant difference and greatly enhanced the overall experience. I also really like the Dragon Soul drink prepared by Olivia. It was creative, well-made, and clearly crafted with care. Robbie and Juan were also excellent and contributed to the warm, team-oriented environment. The kitchen staff deserve recognition as well. They were friendly, approachable, and genuinely committed to ensuring guests were satisfied with their meals. Their willingness to accommodate requests and focus on customer satisfaction did not go unnoticed. My only concern relates to the kitchen Head Chef… Based on my experience, he did not seem to reflect the same positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude demonstrated by the rest of the team. This stood out because the servers and kitchen staff worked hard to create an enjoyable experience. I believe the restaurant would benefit from kitchen leadership that better complements the strong team already in place. Overall, the service, teamwork, and dedication of the staff left a very positive impression on me. Thank you to Jacob, Veronica, Olivia, Robbie, Juan, and the kitchen team for making the visits enjoyable.”
“Had such a nice time here. The space itself is beautiful—super cozy, warm, and just a really good vibe overall. We started with one of the best cranberry scones I’ve ever had… and from that moment I knew I was going to love every bit of this experience. The bone marrow and steak tartare—both were spot on, flavourful and done really well. But the apple pie French toast… wow. Easily one of the best we’ve had. Not too sweet, perfectly balanced, just so good. A big thank you to Chef Eddy, you can really feel the care and intention behind the food. The staff were amazing too, so kind and attentive which made the whole experience even more special. We truly enjoyed every second and can’t wait to come back. Already thinking of that French toast.”
“Come for the history, stay for the amazing food and drinks! Came for the Oyster special they have on Tuesday and Wednesday (24 for 40$ is hard to beat anywhere) and everything was fantastic. So much else on the menu I want to try if I come another night but the oysters were sooooo good I didn't have room for anything else but drinks and dessert 🤣 It's also just a wild location/unique atmosphere given how everything else has grown up right around one of the oldest heritage buildings in Mississauga. The owners have really done a great job of preserving the essence and history of the place while keeping a nearly 200 year old former house looking great and contemporary right in the middle of towering condos and an urban shopping mall. Sitting in the bar area with the big wall to wall skylight is definitely an experience in it's own right just for the view and being able to see everything around you. Will definitely be back again!”
“I visited Wilcox's the other day with a few friends and honestly it was a bit disappointing. We had went for the Happy Hour because the prices are really good, so why not! Once we got there, we were seated immediately as it wasn't busy. If you haven't been to Wilcox before it's definitely a chill, relaxed vibe inside. For drinks I had gotten the Peachee Lychee which our serve said was a balance of sweet and fresh. I would disagree, mine was only sweet to the point where I didn't finish it. The Shareables were okay. We had gotten the KFC and Brassica Fritters. Now as someone that has went to Wilcox many times previously, I was very disappointed by parts of the menu. For example, they have skirt steak on the menu, and when my friends wanted to order it, the server said they don't sell it any more (why have it on your menu then?). They then decided to go with the Octopus Puttanesca thinking it would be the same as it previously was. The restaurant must have done budget cuts, because now for $2 less then the quarter you use to get, you now only get one tentacle cut into 4 pieces... also don't get me started on the Bone Marrow now called (Tartare & Marrow). I feel as though it is now a down scaled cheaper alternative. Unfortunately this will be my last time going to Wilcox. I appreciated the previous menu and wish our server would have provided a bit more clarity with changes on the before we ordered. One thing they did get right was the roasted chicken, it tasted delicious!”
