“Diane and her staff were fantastic. We rented a fire pit. It was right overlooking the vineyard, gorgeous. Hello, the atmosphere was very peaceful. The charcuterie board is a must. We also ordered three firewood pizzas to go. Would definitely recommend!”
“The wine was amazing, and the charcuterie board rocked. The staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable. Well worth the visit, we will definitely be coming back!”
“We Absolutely love it!! The staff are kind, friendly and treat you like family! The wine is delish, the charcuterie boards are fabulous and the pizza is the best we’ve ever tasted it’s unreal!! We are lifers!🍷❤️ Highly recommend!!!”
“Hidden gem we randomly found while googling for wineries in Elora and surrounding areas. First and definitely won't be our last visit. Great oven pizzas, charcuterie board was delicious, vast selections of wines and friendly staff. Love the set up with the fire pit option. The chocolate and flight pairing is a must. Chocolates were delicate and not overly sweet. They went well with the pairings. Thank you, Diane. We've recommended this spot to our friends and will be coming back.”
“We have been visiting Cox Creek Winery since it opened and typically come a few times each summer. Over the years, we’ve enjoyed wine tastings, the outdoor market, and events like the drag show under the tent. It’s a place we’ve always loved. Last summer, our daughter got engaged, and we brought her and her partner here to celebrate with wine tasting, outdoor games, and a walk through the vineyard. I even submitted a 5 star review at that time. Because of that experience, I decided to book the two-floor loft for her bridal shower for about 15 guests. The booking process and communication were good overall. We received a detailed event guide outlining the prices for the room rental, wine options, and catering. I chose to have bottles of wine available upstairs for self-serve rather than bar service. We also chose to bring in our own food to accommodate dietary needs. However, a few issues came up leading to the event. Just three days before the event, I was sent a different wine list with limited wines that excluded some of their regular options. When I asked about specific wines, I was told they were out of stock and offered alternatives at a much higher price point. The markup on in-house wine was also disappointing, for example, a $20 bottle was priced at $35 plus tax. In all our years of coming here, I don't recall that kind of markup. On the day of the event, there was no greeting or welcome by any of the staff and no direction upon arrival. We knew where the room was so made several trips back and forth to the car and upstairs to the room to only later realize there was a more convenient side entrance. This would have been helpful to know when we first arrived. Although we were told the Operations Manager would be our point of contact, she never greeted us or introduced herself and about 30 minutes after we arrived, I had to seek her out and introduced myself. The Operations Manager wasn't very friendly and did not ask if we needed anything and her priority was to serve the customers walking in. The assistant (who I also had to approach for assistance because at this point, no one had acknowledged us) was very pleasant and did help with additional tables, which is a part of the room setup. There is an automatic 15% gratuity on food and beverage which is in addition to the room rental fee, wine mark up and tax. This is indicated on the event guide but we brought in and served our own food, we did not use the bar service and there was minimal to no staff interaction. No one checked in on us once during the event. We also did not ger or use any cutlery or plates and didn't even get wine glasses (we used the water glasses that were provided). At this point, I was frustrated with the lack of attention and chose to focus on my daughter. Also, I see it as a lost opportunity for the winery, as 90% of our guests were in their 20's which major social media presence. The event space itself is beautiful, with stunning wooden tables and a lovely balcony (which we couldn’t use due to weather but is a great feature). We still had a wonderful time celebrating, and the space looked amazing once decorated. I did my best not to let these issues take away from my daughter’s special day.”
