“We had a phenomenal dinner at Sugo on Surrey! The food was incredible, so full of flavour! The caesar salad was easily one of the best we have ever had! The Monday special with pasta and salad is a great deal! Our server, Elle-Lee, was fantastic, very attentive and quick! And the Manager, Tyler, was amazing as well. They made our experience even better! We can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend!”
“We recently celebrated a milestone birthday there. The food and drinks were wonderful. All the pasta dishes were cooked perfectly. My favourite was the gnocchi. Our platter appetizer was really good. The pickled grapes on the platter were out of this world. Best thing I ate all night. Our waitress was great as we were a large party.”
“Amazing top tier Italian restaurant with delicious dishes in an intimate setting. The interior is in a 2 story building that is dimly lit and nicely decorated. The food took a while to come out but it was worth the wait. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pizza and pasta were very tasty and nicely portioned. The desserts were also fantastic.”
“I recently visited Sugo on Surrey with a friend, and overall it was a really nice experience. The restaurant is set in a cozy house-style space, which adds a warm and charming vibe. We went on a Tuesday and were surprised to see it completely full, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. The place seemed a bit short-staffed, but the food came out fairly quickly. We ordered the Dirty Shirley and Lychee Corpse Reviver, both of which were enjoyable. For food, we tried the Ricotta Gnocchi, Bolognese, The Perfect Pear, Bruschetta, Meatballs, and Pizza Boscaiola. The bruschetta was slightly salty, but they kindly replaced it. The meatballs were tasty, and the pizza was a highlight—the crust was excellent. The homemade tiramisu was just okay. Service felt average, likely due to staffing, but sitting at the bar high chairs might offer a better experience.”
“The atmosphere was great. The service felt fake and the food did not live up to the expectations. Plus the wait time for food was much longer than normal and the server couldn't read the cues that we were getting a bit annoyed. The butternut salad was a very boring and lacked flavour. All in all I was expecting a better experience based on the prices and hype of the place. The dinner party that we went with shared similar disappointments. The picture of my steak fries meal looks bland. See for yourself.”
