“Wow. That’s pretty much all I need to say. Built into an old house, this restaurant has a quaint, fun vibe...and the food is absolutely incredible. My wife and I started with the spiced chickpeas and the Caesar salad. For drinks, we ordered the Winter // Green and the When the Walls Fell. Both amazing. We followed that with the Lavender and Anchovy-Rubbed Pinn Oaks Leg of Lamb and the Spicy Crab Pasta. It's a lot of food, but I probably could have kept eating because it was that good. The staff was really nice...fantastic bartenders. We sat at the bar, and even the other guests were friendly (not that the restaurant has control over that). That said, I’d argue they’ve created an atmosphere where people actually enjoy talking to each other. Great food. Great service. It’s no surprise they keep popping up as James Beard Award semifinalists. Just give them the award already. Oh, and in case the owner reads this: “Shaka, his eyes uncovered!” They’ll understand. 😉”

“I did it! Going on New Year’s Day to Goodkind for their yearly brunch with friends. Personally, that was overdue but better late than never. My friends and I ordered four dishes to share and we were all very happy with our choices. I was not able to place a reservation but my friends and I decided to test our luck and waited a little over half an hour to sit at the bar. So, I would recommend to make a reservation if you’re looking to sit at a table. The restaurant is cozy, warm, and friendly. So Midwestern! Servers were welcoming, busy yet productive. We left the restaurant feeling satisfied and relaxed. Great way to start our year!”

“Wonderful restaurant! From the moment you arrive 15 minutes early, only to discover that you're 45 minutes early, the staff here will take great care of you and make you feel a little less embarrassed. The cocktails are varied and delicious. The wine is limited but covers all the bases well enough. The food though, is the star of the show. Everything was spectacular. I heard that they were known for their lamb, so had that, and it was in the top 3 lamb dishes I've ever had. Tried all our group's dishes and they were all equally superb. Prices are fair for quality food. The vibe is very relaxed. Parking is on the street but fairly easy. Highly recommend this place!”

“We finally checked out Goodkind thanks to a gift certificate and we’re so glad we did! It’s right in our neighborhood, yet somehow we’d never been. The service was outstanding, the drinks were excellent, and every dish was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making the whole experience even better. We had no idea what we were missing! Easily one of the best restaurants in all of Milwaukee.”

“This place is an absolute gem! We sat outside on a beautiful Summer night. We tried many of the dishes, had some signature cocktails, and had a very relaxed pace. No one ever rushed us. The service was incredible! The food was even better! Highly recommend!”
