The Harvest Vine is a Basque kitchen with a deep commitment to fostering a sense of community. Once a specialty food store that evolved into a tiny, 16-seat restaurant, today the space has grown to seat 74 guests, and exists as a place where "collaboration meets craft and strangers become friends." The seasonal menu changes frequently, but expect dry-cured meats, Spanish cheese, and dishes like galician style octopus and the infamous Pata Negra pig from Extremadura.
“Top notch food from Basque Country. So good. We had squid, venison, cauliflower, beet salad, anchovies and I don’t remember what else but everything was delicious.”
“Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a dinner at Harvest Vine. Go on Tues-Sat when Juan Carlos is working front of house. Sit upstairs to watch the chefs. Get the beet salad. Dip your bread in the lingering sauce of each dish. Try some Spanish wine. Allow yourself to be whisked away. The energy we put out is the energy we get back, and Harvest Vine has plenty of good energy to give. This place is likely best for smaller groups in search of exquisite flavor in Seattle. It’s a tight space, It can be cold in the winter months, the service feels more familial than traditional fine dining. But the food is incredible. Every dish is well executed, simple, yet extraordinary. If you appreciate good food and people who are passionate about cooking said food, the price will be more than worth it.”
“Wow, what a special meal. The standouts were the Remolachas (thinly sliced beets) and the thinly sliced tuna belly. Unbelievable flavor. The olive oil was also the star of the show. The champiñones were delicious, and the lubina (sea bass) was made better by the peppers. Overall, a very romantic spot and one of the best meals in Seattle. The only way it could have been made better was if it hadn’t been so cold on the lower level.”
“The atmosphere was nice and the service was fine, but overall I felt the restaurant was overpriced for the portion sizes. The biggest surprise was the Gambas. The portion was extremely small and honestly a bit shocking when it arrived. The bread was $7, served cold, and no olive oil or accompaniments were offered until we asked. The octopus and pork dishes were delicious and were the highlights of the meal. I wasn’t a fan of the beet salad. Overall, the atmosphere is great, but the portions don’t justify the prices.”
“Overall: okay experience but not the best Spanish food tapas. Food: highly dependent on what you order but generally the ones not good are due to lack of death of flavor and lack of sauces. Service: The service is very good and friendly without any pretentiousness. Atmosphere: Sat at the bar which is unique as you can watch the action of the chefs preparing the food and seeing what else you might want to order Conclusion: Good experience overall but not great and likely will not repeat as expensive for what you're getting.”
