Located on the renowned Rutherford Bench in Napa Valley, the historic 60-acre Hewitt Vineyard has been producing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon since the late 19th century. Originally planted in the 1880s, the vineyard rose to prominence under the ownership of William (Bill) Hewitt, former Chairman of Deere & Company and U.S. Ambassador to Jamaica. A passionate steward of Napa Valley, Hewitt recognized the potential of this extraordinary site and helped elevate its reputation by focusing on its singular terroir. Today, Hewitt Vineyard is known for crafting powerful, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon that captures the essence of Rutherford. Planted along prime western-facing slopes, the site offers ideal drainage and sun exposure, producing intensely flavored grapes marked by the signature character of Rutherford Dust. Each vintage of Hewitt Cabernet Sauvignon is vinified as a single-vineyard wine, allowing the vineyard’s distinctive voice to shine. The result is a bold, structured reflection of a storied legacy and a timeless sense of place. Walk-ins are welcomed; reservations are recommended. *** Important note: Tastings are hosted at the Beaulieu Vineyard Tasting Room, located at 1960 Saint Helena Hwy, Rutherford, CA. The winery is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. We close early at 3 PM on Thanksgiving Eve and New Year’s Eve.
“Wines amazing, no half measures here. The wine is amazing here.”
“Taste good, reasonable price, good quality service.”
“Simply awsome! Some of the best wines Napa has to offer. Tiffany Ann was a great host.”
“The vineyard is actually Provenance. Recommened by nice woman at Yountville Visitor Info Center for ability to bring one's own food and taste wines on large patio area. Highly knowledgeable staff. Excellent wines. Wonderful experience.”
“The wine is amazing. We are 10 year members of Hewitt since they were at Provenance Tasting room. We joined Beaulieu Vineyard for their George De Latour several years ago. HOWEVER, in the last few years the tasting experiences have been absolute garbage. The staff needs to go to other wineries and learn what hospitality actually means. We purchase several thousand dollars a year of Hewitt, and BV, and the staff treats Hewitt members like second class citizens. We noticed short pours compared to other tables and when asked to revisit a few wines, to compare them for purchase, we were scoffed at. Reluctantly we received an extra ounce. As dual members, we were told we can't taste Hewitt and BV in the same day because of a State Law. This is new to us. Unfortunately, we will probably be cancelling our memberships.”
