Rooted in Yotsuya, Tokyo, SUSHI MITANI is renowned for its precise craftsmanship and signature “Mitani Mariage” — a refined pairing of Champagne, wine, sake, and cold-brew tea, thoughtfully composed alongside each course. Now in Manhattan, "MITANI New York" offers an intimate sushi course experience within two private six-seat counters at the Lotte New York Palace. With only a limited number of seatings each day, guests are invited to experience the quiet precision, hospitality, and harmony that have made SUSHI MITANI one of Japan’s most sought-after reservations. ************ Mitani Mariage emerges from a sense of gratitude for life itself. This is the essence of life, sushi as collaborative creation, where we elevate one another. Giving rise to unknown flavors, the harmony with carefully selected drinks allowing us to transcend ourselves, the experience, and go beyond imagination. Journey to a place where our respect for everyone involved deepens, giving birth to the flavor of gratitude. That flavor circulates through life and leads us to deep connection. Life is finite; that is precisely why we deliver Mariage to foster connection. — Founder, Yasuhiko Mitani

“The quality of this restaurant is evident as soon as you locate the somewhat obscure door within the Lotte hotel. It seems there was a real attention to detail and intentionality in building this New York location and you can feel the pride of the team that is working here. We visited for lunch, so did not partake is the famous alcohol pairing, but did enjoy some excellent champagne by the glass. As you would expect the food was spectacular and the service was extremely warm but professional. This was a great meal. I'd happily return, hopefully at dinner so I can enjoy the pairing.”
“Attended Mitani on Sunday May 31st for lunch. I have tried to get into Mitani in Tokyo for many years with little success, so was excited to see that a NYC branch was opening. We had the pleasure of Sushi Chef Kazuya Tsuruta serving us, who was a close apprentice of Chef Mitani in Tokyo. Everything we experienced during our lunch was extremely enjoyable, from the greeting, the ambiance, which was very quiet on our day, and the beautiful nature of the counter space. Service was top notched, the chef was able to explain each dish to us, with a majority of the tsumani portion being prepared in the kitchen next to the counter space. each dish was flavorful and extremely different from one another. Once the Nigiri portion began the chef showed his attention to detail with each preparation of the different cuts of fish. The final course was the traditional egg custard dish. You will leave full, which sometimes is not the case with many sushi places, unless you partake in an okonomi section after the chefs omakase. I highly recommend this place if you are seeking top notch sushi in NYC. We did not do the wine or sake pairing, but he couple next to us did, and they seemed to have enjoyed every glass that was poured. I would happily return for another seating the next time I am in NYC.”
