Nostrana—literally ours—invokes local. Simple food from honest ingredients. Pure, regional, Italian. Opened in 2005, Nostrana is Chef/Owner Cathy Whims’ love letter to Italy. This is a restaurant built on relationships: with our amazing farmers and purveyors, our dedicated staff, and of course with you, our guest. We hope to offer something timeless and authentic in a beautiful space, the regional specialties of Italy deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest. We strive to be better every day. We're currently reserving indoor tables and bar seating. When available, outdoor patio reservations may be subject to weather disruptions. Join us for a three-course tasting celebrating regional Italian cooking and the traditions of the Unione Ristoranti del Buon Ricordo — a historic association founded in 1964 to preserve and honor Italy’s diverse culinary heritage. Today, the association includes around 100 restaurants in Italy and only a handful abroad; Nostrana is honored to be just the second restaurant in the United States to be included. At the heart of the experience is our Piatto del Buon Ricordo: Insalata Nostrana, a dish that has anchored our menu since the beginning. Built around radicchio rosso di Verona and reflecting both our Italian inspiration and Oregon roots, it is finished with Parmigiano Reggiano, a cæsar-style dressing, and rosemary-sage croutons made from our house focaccia. Each guest who participates in the full experience receives a hand-painted ceramic Buon Ricordo plate — a “good memory” to take home. Crafted in Vietri sul Mare on the Amalfi Coast, these plates have become cherished collectibles throughout Italy, where guests often seek out participating restaurants across the country to build collections over time. Menu includes: Insalata Nostrana — radicchio, Parmigiano Reggiano, cæsar-style dressing, rosemary-sage croutons (Piatto del Buon Ricordo) Seasonal Handmade Pasta — a rotating pasta inspired by the season and often featuring ingredients from nearby l’Orto Nostrano; selection changes regularly based on availability. This experience may be enjoyed alongside our à la carte menu. **Please note** Due to extraordinary enthusiasm for the Menu del Buon Ricordo, commemorative plates are presently in limited supply while additional plates are completed in Italy. Guests participating in the full experience will receive a plate; if one is not available at the time of your visit, we will gladly ship it to you at no additional cost once our next delivery arrives.
