“I was visiting Chicago and made it a point to try Obélix because I’d never had beef Wellington before, and it’s not something that’s easy to find where I’m from. It ended up being a great choice. From the moment we sat down, the service stood out. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel relaxed. My friend and I shared the beef Wellington, which came with béarnaise sauce, peppercorn sauce, fries, asparagus, and garlic aioli. The Wellington itself was cooked perfectly—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The contrast between the crisp, flaky puff pastry and the savory sauces really elevated the dish. You can tell a lot of care went into the preparation. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and they paired especially well with the garlic aioli. Even the sides felt thoughtfully done rather than an afterthought. We also ordered drinks, which were well-balanced and enjoyable, and the ambiance struck a nice balance, upscale but still comfortable. Overall, I left very satisfied and would absolutely return the next time I’m in Chicago.”

“We walked into a warm and inviting atmosphere that felt like a Parisian Family Sunday Dinner where you could see the chefs behind the glass. Our server was very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. All were very attentive. Best Escargot we ever tasted. We actually ordered another tray with dinner. Frois Gras w/crispy rice was excellent. I ordered the crusted Duck Breast in a pomegranate & mango sauce and my husband ordered Beef Wellington..Both entree’s were Delicious!! We ordered the Dessert Soufflé and another Chocolate Cake w/mousse & mango ice cream with a yummy rice crisp. We can’t wait to go back when we’re back in Chicago!!”

“Beautiful beautiful evening! Can’t say enough good things about this place. Everything was excellent from FOH to BOH to bar and then table. Grateful to have experienced — had been on my list for a very long time. Their menu is extremely unique and creative, touching on French classics with some updates twists. The night went like this … Oysters, Caviar tartlettes, Foie gras on crispy rice, Gem salad, French onion soup, Pasta with king crab and mussels, Boeuf côte cooked perfectly, and Port and a Swiss roll cake with rosemary ice cream. WHEW!!! 🙏🏽🙌🏽🥵🤤 Gotta give it up for the amazing staff here. Thank you for a beautiful night!”

“Went for Valentines brunch! Very interesting atmosphere. Our server was very over the top and pretentious and some people there seemed similar so the vibe was a little stuffy and off. Pastries were insane! Order then first because they do sell out (2 of the 3 sold out when the next table was seated). Some things were amazing like the pastries and the French toast but the bloody Mary (lacked flavor overall), poutine (super overpowered, not enough fries to balance it out and curds were melted too much) amd the sorbet with rum and passion fruit was salty with ice crystals. Definitely get the caviar sandwhich if you can! I read reviews that its all butter flavored and did not find that to be the case at all! Very complex flavor (salt and vinegar chips!) And just delicious. Things I would skip: duck salad (just a huge duck hash on top of greens), bloody Mary (no flavor), poutine (overly spicy and not really poutine no gravy or decent curds), sorbet (salty??) Definitely order: all pastries, caviar sandwhich ($145 but such a delicious and unforgettable dish) Also we brought a toddler and saw 2 other groups with kids so as long as they are chill it seems pretty kid friendly during brunch! Mentioned it was our anniversary and they said as much but nothing free so that was lame haha”
