Our name, which means “little dream” in Italian, was chosen by partners Tony Priolo and Ciro Longobardo because it had always been their dream to open a restaurant of their own. “The restaurant fits our personal goal to get to the heart of Italian wine and food,” says executive chef Priolo. “You go to Italy for simple food prepared by hand with local ingredients. We wanted to bring that experience to Chicago.” When the weather allows, enjoy al fresco dining in the hidden garden patio-regularly recognized as one of the best in the city. Starting December 1, Monday-Thursday we'll open at 5 pm rather than 4 pm. You are welcome to bring a cake to celebrate. If you do, we will charge a $3 fee per person cake-cutting fee. Beginning January 1, all credit card transactions will be charged a 3% fee. Starting April 27th, Piccolo Sogno will be taking reservations through Resy. https://resy.com/cities/chicago-il/venues/piccolo-sogno
“Visited during Restaurant Week 2026 with work colleagues. Went in expecting to be overly critical, and comparing the food to meals in Rome… and came away pleasantly surprised. Aperol spritz availability, but not on menu. Rich and flavorful pasta, but with an Americanized twist (utilizing roast beef stew in my dish inlew of sausage). Appetizers and pizza was enjoyable, the buttered house bread was a crowd pleaser. Some of our party had minor complaints around the freshness of the pasta, but didn’t bleed into my appreciation. Additionally, a very affordable experience comparing base prices to Rome. Felt just like an ideal Italian family restaurant.”
“Absolutely loved this Italian restaurant in Chicago! The pasta was hands down one of the best I’ve had—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The drinks were also amazing and complemented the meal really well. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. We especially enjoyed the outdoor seating—it had such a nice vibe. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great Italian food and a relaxing atmosphere!”
“We had the pleasure of working at Piccolo Sogno for a birthday celebration as the Captured Moments Collective photo booth vendor, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is beautiful and inviting, with a lively yet intimate energy that makes it perfect for celebrating special moments. The staff was very helpful, attentive, and easy to work with throughout the event, which made everything run seamlessly on our end as a vendor!”
“We visited this restaurant during a quiet time, and it was the perfect choice. The place was spotless, cozy, and had such a pleasant atmosphere that we could truly relax without any distractions. The service was excellent—the staff was attentive and welcoming throughout our meal. As for the food, the ravioli I ordered were hands down the most delicious ravioli I’ve ever had in my life! We also tried the lasagna, which was equally tasty. We finished with dessert, and it didn't disappoint either—everything was flavorful and well-prepared. It’s definitely not the cheapest place, but it’s worth every penny. We’re already looking forward to coming back because the food and the overall experience were simply fantastic. Highly recommended!”
“This amazing Italian restaurant is a MUST! The service and food were top notch! I will definitely be going back! I highly recommend this Italian restaurant! Went there with my friend/family on a Monday afternoon. They have valet parking too. The food was GREAT! We had the Burrata (Hand-stuffed, Pugliese mozzarella, Italian mortadella, pistachios, aged balsamic marinated roasted grapes), Prosciutto Di Parma (Nineteen month aged Prosciutto di Parma with sliced melon), and Frittura (fried shrimp and calamari). I had the Lasagna Tipica Di Bologna, which is a traditional lasagna with a meat sauce with green pasta sheets, layered with bechamel. I also tried their mushroom risotto and the oxtail stew on a bed of grits! All were AMAZING! For desert I had a chocolate lava cake with a hazelnut sorbet…FANTASTIC!”
