**September reservations will open Saturday, August 1st at 12:00pm** Bastion is the 24-seat restaurant of James Beard Foundation Award Nominee Chef Josh Habiger. It is located in a separate area within the casual cocktail bar of the same name, and it is a part of Nashville's Wedgewood Houston neighborhood. In November 2025, Bastion was awarded a MICHELIN Star. Bastion's dining room features counter seating around the kitchen for parties of 2 as well as three tables for parties of 3 to 6. Bastion's small team serves a weekly set menu of six dinner courses featuring many dishes with a wide variety of flavors, ingredients, and inspirations. Friendly service guides you through the culinary experience, which also features wine pairings, creative cocktails, and a curated vinyl soundtrack. Come early or stay late in the hidden Little Bar, which is a private offering for guests of the restaurant.
“Very, very good, but not worth the $250 per person, Michelin star or not. Set in a hideaway, in a light industrial area, it has a tiny but spacious dining area hidden behind a sliding corrugated metal door with a large outer bar , any six seat interior bar. This is a prix fixe, full service, friendly, attentive dining experience. All the courses were great with novel tastes and textures, EXCEPT the Tri-tip, that was well tri-tip, disappointingly tough and incongruous. There is good parking nearby.”
“I recently had the chance to dine at Bastion in Nashville, and it was an experience worth remembering. From the moment we sat down, the service stood out—attentive, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about both the food and the wine pairings. Every member of the staff made us feel welcome without being intrusive, and that really elevated the evening. The tasting menu was beautifully crafted, with dishes that were creative, thoughtful, and executed at a very high level. Highlights included the raw oyster with plum and lemon verbena, the raw cobia with melon and genmai, and the Bear Creek pork with eggplant and sunflower. Each plate was stunning in presentation and layered with flavor. The portions are in true tasting-menu fashion—small and refined—so while I left a little hungry, the quality of each bite more than made up for it. We chose the wine pairing, which was spot-on. The selections complemented each course beautifully and gave us the chance to try a range of unique bottles. For cocktails, Bastion absolutely shines. Drinks like the Sandia Boys and Lush Garden were fresh, inventive, and perfectly balanced—easily some of the best cocktails I’ve had in Nashville. The atmosphere added to the night: warm, creative, and slightly playful, which fits the food and drink style perfectly. Overall, Bastion is a gem for anyone looking for an elevated dining experience in Nashville. Expect artistry on the plate, outstanding drinks, and top-notch service. Just know going in that this is a true tasting-menu format, so it’s about savoring flavors, not filling up. Would I go back? Absolutely—next time I’ll plan on grabbing a little something extra afterward, but for the food, drinks, and service alone, Bastion more than delivers.”
“Wow. This is the probably my peak dining experience I’ve had. Service was superb. Really enjoyed having the chefs explain their dishes and getting to watch them prepare everything. The wine pairing was excellent also. If you can swing it, you need to go and experience this place.”
“An unforgettable dining experience from start to finish. The tasting menu was a masterful journey of flavors, each course beautifully presented and thoughtfully paired with wines that elevated every bite. The creativity in the kitchen is matched by the impeccable service—knowledgeable, attentive, and never intrusive. The ambiance struck the perfect balance between sophisticated and welcoming. This is more than just a meal; it’s an experience worth savoring and sharing. A true gem for anyone who appreciates culinary artistry.”
“I thought the food here was good, but perhaps not quite at the quality of a michelin star restaurant. None of the dishes really "wowed" me. My favourite was the Pear + Sunchoke which was executed very well. Also note, the music here is excellent; on vinyl and the albulm that's being played is on display.”
