“Dinner at Born & Raised was an incredible experience from start to finish. I went with my fiancé, and the whole night felt elevated the second we walked in—dim lighting, vintage-inspired steakhouse design, and a modern luxury vibe that makes the place feel both upscale and comfortable at the same time. We ordered the filet mignon and ribeye along with potatoes, broccolini, and mushrooms. The steaks were cooked perfectly—the ribeye was rich, juicy, and full of flavor with a great sear, while the filet mignon was incredibly tender and buttery. You could tell everything was prepared with real attention to detail. The sides were just as impressive. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned with a great texture, the broccolini had a light zesty kick that made it stand out, and the mushrooms were deep and savory—almost like they had a balsamic or red wine glaze that gave them extra richness. To finish, we had the tiramisu cheesecake, which was smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet—an excellent way to end the meal. Our server, Matthew, was top-notch—attentive, professional, and genuinely enhanced the experience. Overall, everything from the food to the atmosphere to the service was a 10/10. Easily a place I’d recommend!.”

“We had a wonderful experience for our anniversary dinner. The food was incredible!! We loved the ambiance and our sever was extremely professional. Even though we booked our reservation a few weeks in advance, we will definitely be back in the future. Highly recommend the bread appetizer and the uni spaghetti has such a unique taste.”

“Born and Raised is one of our favorite dining experiences we’ve had thus far. First of all, the atmosphere is immaculate. The vibe is swanky, moody lighting, jazzy music, dark wood, upscale interiors - it’s one of those places where you have too much fun and too many cocktails with your steak. Second, the service is attentive and quick. They did not rush us ever. They must train their servers to be quite old fashioned as they always asked my husband if he approved of my order before accepting it, which is not something you see often. Third, the food and drinks are fabulous. We loved the steak and sides. They brought us out special anniversary shots with our NAMES printed on them!!! 10/10 will visit again!”

“Born and Raised is one of the most beautiful steakhouses in San Diego. The interior is stunning, with a unique design that feels elegant and upscale. In the evening, the atmosphere becomes even more beautiful, making it a great place for a special dinner or drinks. Unfortunately, the steak didn’t live up to my expectations. It was cooked correctly, but the flavor was surprisingly average and not very memorable, especially for a restaurant known for its steaks. Overall, it’s a place that stands out more for its ambiance and design than for the food.”

“Amazing atmosphere and city views from the 2nd floor. The architecture is beautiful and amazing, great vibes. Our waiter was a little cold and should’ve moved to the other side of the table to grab things instead of leaning over several people. The food is just too good, very good beef Wellington, appetizers, side, and delicious desserts. The bar makes incredible cocktails, great job! And the bathrooms are top tier. lol. For real tho.”
