“A wonderful place to spoil yourself or the one you love. The service was so personal and made you feel special. I was surprised when they went to melt the butter over the filet mignon, a nice little extra. The 10 oz filet mignon was fabulous- soft, melt in your mouth. While the ribeye was just as delicious. We ordered the mashed potatoes and asparagus which were great choices. The raw horseradish add just the right kick.”
“My boyfriend took me here for a celebratory dinner and the staff really made it a special night for us. They greeted us so warmly and all congratulated me on my accomplishment which made me feel so special. Jordyn was our server for the night and she was EXCEPTIONAL! She gave us great recommendations and was super knowledgeable on all the food. She’s just overall great vibes!!! We had a wonderful night because of her. The food was also cooked to perfection! We ordered the porterhouse to share and it definitely was more than enough for two. We paired it with the Mac and cheese and asparagus which also were full of flavor and delicious. If you come here, ask for Jordyn!”
“Had such a great experience dining at STK!! I’ve been to numerous locations like NYC and Orlando and this one was by far my favorite! Upon walking in, not only was I greeted by smiling faces behind the bar, I was taken away by how beautiful the restaurant was!! Very modern upscale vibe with the lighting, decor, and music all making it the perfect atmosphere for any occasion!! The happy hour menu was amazing and surprisingly affordable for the quality. Great options, generous portions, and everything tasted incredible. It’s definitely one of the best happy hour deals I’ve come across and I lovvvve happy hour lol 😂 Luis and Kyle behind the bar made amazing drinks, made great conversation, and were attentive!! Their teamwork behind the bar really showed and truly elevated the experience for me!! I ordered the steak and fries which were spectacular, The corn and crab fritters which I loved, And the meatballs were so good I had a second order😭”
“During a recent weekday visit near the holidays, my family and I arrived at this establishment for happy hour, where we were impressed by the tasteful Christmas decorations. Despite the early hour for dinner, the atmosphere was welcoming. Our server delivered exceptional service, showcasing outstanding attentiveness and efficiency. Unfortunately i forgot her name but she was Asian, sweet and fast. The extensive menu sampling featured an array of expertly prepared dishes, including mini hamburgers, calamari, Wagyu tacos, steak bites, oysters, etc. The diverse happy hour offerings and delightful donuts, paired with a well-crafted spiced watermelon cocktail, made for a satisfying experience. We would recommend this establishment and intend to return.”
“We were genuinely excited to try STK in San Diego, especially since we love steakhouses and have had wonderful experiences at many great ones locally. Unfortunately, this ended up being one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve had in San Diego — and one that made us regret our visit entirely. We ordered surf and turf for our son (over $100), and he immediately said the lobster tasted “funny.” Shortly after, he became nauseous and threw up right in the restaurant. That alone was incredibly upsetting for us as parents. We also ordered the Dry-Aged Delmonico with wagyu butter. The steak itself was fine, but the butter was overwhelming and the seasoning (which our waiter offered and we agreed to) was unpleasant — and, as we later discovered, an additional $4 charge that was never clearly communicated, even added to our son’s dish. The sides were equally disappointing. The mashed potatoes were so oversalted they were inedible and tasted processed. The “truffle” fries had no truffle at all — just cheese. We were there for a simple Sunday family dinner. No drinks. Two steak dishes and two sides to share — and the bill came to $310. When our son got sick, our server showed no empathy, offered nothing to make the situation right, and didn’t even acknowledge the severity of what had just happened. No adjustment, no gesture, nothing. As members of the local community, we expect better — especially at this price point. A few weeks ago, we dined at Steak 48 in Del Mar and spent a similar amount but had an exceptional experience from start to finish. STK felt like a tourist trap: flashy, overpriced, and not delivering on quality. To make matters worse, I later experienced food poisoning symptoms as well. This is not something we take lightly. We will absolutely avoid this place in the future and would not recommend it to locals or visitors. For the prices they charge, the food quality, transparency, and service should be significantly better. Extremely disappointing.”
