Located on Harbor Island, Island Prime offers stunning views of the San Diego Bay, downtown skyline and Coronado Bridge. The main dining room showcases floor-to-ceiling windows and is propped up on wooden stilts over the water, making it the only waterfront steakhouse in the city of San Diego. The traditional steak and seafood menu crafted by Chef/Partner Deborah Scott features premium cuts and fresh catches a la carte as well as composed entrees.
“One of the best fine dining experiences in San Diego! Sitting over the water, in this restaurant you get great views of San Diego Bay. North Island, Coronado Bridge, and the downtown city skyline. The food is exquisite both visually and in taste. We had the catch of the day Halibut and the Prime filet trio. Even the focaccia bead with honey butter to start was divine.”
“Amazing restaurant with glorious views! The food is delicious. Scallops were perfect. Crab cakes were delish! Service was excellent and friendly. Definitely worth going!”
“We had a fantastic time. The bread they give you is hollow though just so you’re aware! The snake river steak was the best steak I’ve ever had. I got it rare and it had a lot of flavor, very juicy! Highly recommend this place for date night or to go out with your family.”
“We arrived at opening for the dinner service and sat at a table by the window. The view was nothing short of amazing. Service was warm and welcoming, and food was awesome. Ordered the Signature twice baked potato. This can easily be the only side the table needs and would feed 4 people. When it comes out, its the size of a football! Overall, great place to go for a special meal. Very happy with our experience.”
“NOT IMPRESSED Came here for Mother's Day dinner. The view was mediocre. The noise level was acceptable. The service was pretty good. I like the popover but never as good as the ones at Jordon Pond in Acadia national park. They really should serve it with some jam. The starters were ok. I thought, oh good, this is the right place to be! Then the meats came. Dad's steak didn't taste so great, Mom's was a bit dry and the kiddo's was quickly gobbled up. Dessert time! The strawberry shortcake was just cake with various layers of cake and cream. The créme brulee wasn't even bruleed. It was sitting in a pool of sauce (read: missed the mark on the name and essence of the item). The dessert picked from the children's menu, "brownie sundae" is deceptively named. It was just a chocolate brownie with a tiny dime-sized dollop of marshmallow and some sprinkles. In my mind, "sundae" involves ice cream. Not only were we disappointed from the letdown of missing ice cream, it also had a strong taste of STALE. Like freezer burn stale! I don't see how such an upscale place can serve such poorly made/stored food! Did they pre make all the desserts for speed? Because we will never be back again. Dad was very disappointed, esp at a price point of $100/adult.”
