“Ray Garcia has a great new restaurant on washington boulevard near marina del rey. Many of the dishes served here. We're also served at Broken Spanish when it was downtown. We're working our way through the menu and so far, we haven't had a bad dish. The refried lentils, the duck meatballs, and the Caesar salad are so very good. Service has been attentive and the staff knows the menu well. Don't miss the tres leches cake if you have room for dessert.”
“Just had an amazing dinner here tonight. The food was incredible, the ambience was great and the service was impeccable. Our server, Kenny, was fantastic - attentive without being overbearing, friendly and helpful. The manager, Kelly, also made it a super special evening for us with her warmth and attention and a fun table side visit from Ray Garcia. It was a truly memorable meal, can’t wait to come back!”
“Good vibes, mexician food in tapas style, reasonable price, tastes good. I like their pork belly, it comes with loads of vinegar (yet not too sour) and salad vegetables on side, to balance the fattiness of the meat. 2 out of 3 dishes was slightly spicy, which was a bit of surprise, acceptable but best if the server could have mentioned this or the menu could have stated this. Margaritas 🍹 was good too. A very enjoyable night. Thank you 😊”
“Broken Spanish — 4.5/5 ⭐ Broken Spanish offers a modern take on Mexican cuisine with a focused, thoughtfully curated menu designed for sharing. The meal unfolds in courses, which makes for a relaxed and engaging dining experience. We started with the Aguachile, featuring bay scallops, charred onion aioli, avocado, and cucumber. Bright, fresh, and beautifully balanced. Next came the Tamal en Cazuela, filled with roasted mushroom, spinach, honeynut squash, and salsa tatemada. Comforting and rich, with great depth of flavor. For our mains, we had the Barbacoa, a guajillo-rubbed lamb neck served with onion, cilantro, and consomé, along with the Chicharrón, crispy pork belly with garlic mojo and pickled red cabbage. Both dishes were excellent, but the barbacoa really stood out. Tender, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. We finished with the Tarta de Chocolate, featuring a nixtamalized corn crust, Mexican chocolate cashew custard, and whipped cream. A unique and fitting end to the meal. The flavors throughout were wonderful, with the aguachile and barbacoa being our favorites. The space itself is lovely, modern, and clean, though the music was a bit loud at times. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality and creativity of the dishes make it worthwhile.”
“After going to a similar restaurant I came back and took 1 star off my previous rating. Food: Options are limited. I enjoyed the ceviche, very unique. Beef was meh, too salty and the meat lost the juiciness. Cocktail: Nice bar & drink selection. I ordered Soy Tu Duena, cannot taste coconut in it at all, it’s more like an old fashioned. Their valet parking is $15 which is quite surprising to me. From what I can remember, A-Frame which was the restaurant previously located here has free parking.”
