Calabra at Santa Monica Proper

“As someone who travels solo often, I have a personal rule that I rarely visit the same place twice during a vacation because there is always something new to explore. Calabra was the exception. From the moment I arrived, everyone made me feel genuinely welcomed, seen, and taken care of. The hospitality here is incredible. A special thank you to the General Manager and the entire staff for going above and beyond to make my experience so memorable. A huge shout out to Joana, whose kindness, warmth, and hospitality were a big part of why I returned! She made me feel welcome from the very beginning and truly helped make my experience special. Because of the outstanding service and genuine care shown by the team, I came back a second time during my trip, and it ended up being the highlight of my vacation. The atmosphere is beautiful, the views are stunning, and the energy is fun! To any solo traveler, especially women traveling alone, this is a place where you can feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while still having an amazing time. “Loved it! I went there over the weekend for drinks and appetizers and absolutely loved the terrace. Really fun atmosphere. The food was great! We ordered the salmon tartare, baked feta, and the burger. Everything was delicious. The service also stood out. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive. One of our drinks was taking a while, and without us even asking, they brought an extra glass of wine for our friend while she waited, which was such a thoughtful touch. They were also very helpful in walking us through the menu and explaining the dishes. Overall, such a great experience. I’ll definitely be back.”

“Came for the vegan burger (from a blog recommendation of best vegan burgers in LA) It's not listed on the menu. But their burger - they make it vegan. And wow. It was SOOO DELICIOUS! The patty was excellent 👌 and they make it themselves! I thought it was an impossible patty at first but then I had to ask. They add a creamy vegan cheese and the sauce that is in the burger is just wow (tomatoes with fig?) vegan brioche obviously - I wish all non vegan restaurants did that this restaurant has done. Get informed on how to make an amazing vegan dish. This is what a vegan dish should be like. Filling. Tasty as hell. 10 years vegan so I'm picky with my vegan burgers. I'll be back whenever I visit LA again! - cocktail was lovely too! Actually the side salad was th only thing that was very basic. When I'm back I'll get the fried that sounded really goooood 😊. I'm dure if they can do this burger, they can make the vegan version of the salad a lot more interesting too. Anyways 10 stars out of 5 And staff was also SOOOO friendly! I'm sorry I forgot the name of the waiter. He was from Honduras. Very attentive 😊”

“We visited for the first time and we absolutely loved the ambiance, service and the food! Mr. Rodrigo was phenomenal and the food was fresh and very flavorful. We ordered the Baklava (?) for dessert and it was nothing like the other ones I’ve tasted before. It was amazing! I would highly recommend it. We parked in valet and it was very easy and convenient”
