“This is such a great local gem of a brunch or dinner spot. Especially brunch, it’s so reasonably priced and unique compared to any other place you will go into Boston. We had the suya and eggs and the shrimp and grits. Both amazing! We ate the guava and cheese pastelito too quickly to get a pic. I’ve never regretted anything I’ve had on the menu. The staff are so friendly. Enjoy!”

“Delicious restaurant and incredibly friendly service. The duck drumettes were so tender, and I loved the hot sauce on the menu that you can order. Fried trout and fried okra also highlights! Cocktails were also so well made - loved my sumac sour.”

“Been meaning to give Comfort kitchen a try for months and finally found the opportunity to do so on my birthday with my lady. Every dish & both mocktails were delicious. The Prawn Currry, Jerk Duck Drumettes, Jerk jackfruit sliders & Goat Ragu + Cassava Gnudi were all prime dishes. Update: So good had to go back for Brunch & that might have been even better!”

“We visited Comfort Kitchen for dinner last night and overall had a mixed but still positive experience. The restaurant itself is small, clean, stylish, and very welcoming, with a cozy atmosphere and friendly service throughout the evening. We ordered the chicken drumettes, goat ragout, roasted mushrooms with a side of roti, and overall the dishes were flavorful, creative, and clearly inspired by a variety of global influences. The food was interesting and well seasoned, and the staff was kind and attentive. That said, there were a few things that left us with a less polished impression. The restaurant was out of the eggplant dish we originally wanted, so it was substituted with the roasted mushrooms. The iced tea was also unavailable, and there were no unsweetened tea options, only sweetened versions. Additionally, we noticed the pork chop dish had modifications from the original menu description as well. Altogether, several menu items had changes or substitutions, which made the experience feel a little inconsistent. The biggest drawback for us was that the food gave the impression of being reheated rather than freshly finished to order. While the dishes were flavorful, they cooled down unusually quickly after arriving at the table, which made us question how freshly hot they actually were. Lastly, while the restaurant is clearly aiming for a high-end dining experience, the pricing felt somewhat excessive for the portion sizes and location, leaning more toward downtown Boston pricing. Overall, it’s still an interesting and worthwhile spot with creative food and excellent hospitality, but the execution and value left us with a slightly mixed impression.”

“I'm really torn on this place. I loved the vibe and the flavors were fantastic, but several parts of the experience just fell short. The atmosphere is a definite win. The decor is cozy and stylish, the service was prompt and friendly, and we loved the historical details on the menu—a really nice touch. When it came to the food, they absolutely nailed the flavors. The sauces were brilliant and everything was well-seasoned. The jerk duck was the star of the show—incredibly tender—and the Nepali chai was perfectly spiced and delicious. The problem was that for most dishes, the textures were completely off. The pork chop was dry, the beef was tough, and the roasted okra was soggy instead of crisp. Adding to the frustration was our table. Our group of four was squeezed into a tiny corner with barely enough room to eat comfortably, which made sharing an awkward experience. For the price, I just expected more consistency. I really wanted to love this place, and maybe we just caught them on a bad night, but I'd be hesitant to go back.”
