Corenucopia celebrates the abundance of British culinary tradition - classic dishes made with exceptional ingredients, served in an elegant and intimate setting.
“The Good: Lovely restaurant. Fine dining and well done. I did not book. I walked in and they gave me a table. First table I did not like and asked to be moved, they obliged. Staff were great, friendly, polite, I was alone so they took the time to engage in banter. The lobster bisque was full of flavor. The fish and chips was unique, great crispy batter. Being offered a variety of vinegars is a classy touch. For desert I had the soft serve as it was a sweltering day. The Bad: The chicken caviar was very hot as the chicken is fried, staff should warn the guests about this. The Ugly: Nothing to report.”
“We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal at Corenucopia from start to finish. We began with the chicken and caviar, an unexpected but wonderful pairing, with the briny caviar beautifully complementing the succulent chicken. Next came the lobster bisque, which was rich, velvety, and packed with intense lobster flavour. Every last spoonful was worth savouring, especially when mopped up with the accompanying mini lobster roll. The fish and chips were everything you could hope for—perfectly crisp on the outside, with moist, flaky fish inside, served alongside classic mushy mint peas. We also shared the côte de boeuf, which was incredibly tender and full of flavour, cooked beautifully and a real highlight of the meal. To finish, we had the obligatory sticky toffee pudding. It was wonderfully moist, rich without being overly sweet, and the perfect ending to an exceptional meal. We genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience.”
“Booked as a birthday treat for my wife. The level of service and attention to detail was off the scale, absolutely devine. Best Asparagus starter i have ever had, which was followed by Fish and Chips taken to a different level. Stunning. Its not cheap but well worth every penny spent. The wine list was extensive and maybe could offer a few friendlier options but you get what you pay for, the Sommelier was very knowledgeable and took his time to talk through the options. Thank you for a truly memorable experience. Loved it. 👏👏❤️”
“Very attentive and incredibly informative staff. Almost all the food was exceptional - we enjoyed the Lobster Bisque, Seafood Vol-au-vent, Mushroom Pie and Pommes Anna. Both our desserts were equally incredible; we ordered an STP and the special at the time (Floating Island). In particular, the Mushroom Pie was definitively the best pie I've ever had by a wide margin. I would hold the STP in similar distinction. The only items that we felt didn't measure up to the same standard as the others were the "Fish and Chips" and Chicken Kyiv. I will say that they were still both very well executed and tasty, but the relative gap compared to a more affordable version of these dishes at other restaurant was smaller (possibly just by virtue of the fact that they have a lower innate ceiling). We are keen to revisit and try more dishes!”
“Loved everything about this restaurant apart from the infamous “Fish and Cips”. It is an elevated version of fish and chips where the fish is two layers of Dover sole with lobster mousse inside. The batter is a hard crust, very thick at places and lack the crispiness and lightness you would find in a good traditional version. Lobster mouse in my opinion not only adds lacks flavour but further hides the delicate taste of the sole, which is overcooked and a bit elastic in texture. The vinegar selection, mushy peas and triple cooked chips were fantastic but could not fully salvage the dish. As a result the best liked food in the menu, for me, was the least pleasing. The gin filled oysters, hand dived scallops, floating island, wine selection, service and atmosphere on the other hand were excellent.”
