“An absolute gem in the Ace Hotel. The dining experience I had was phenomenal. They really made my anniversary extremely special. We ordered many dishes and paired them with the wine our knowledgeable servers and sommelier recommended. Definitely recommend for any occasion. The portions were quite filling”
“I had a fantastic brunch experience at Koloman, a French-Austrian fusion restaurant. The staff, from the patient host to our awesome and attentive server, made our visit exceptional. We started with the duck liver and tartare, which were delicious. However, the avocado toast, although not bad, lacked seasoning and didn't quite meet my expectations based on the description. My friends thoroughly enjoyed the Benedict. We ended our meal with apple strudel and French toast, and I must say, the apple strudel was outstanding. Highly recommend trying it!”
“Born in Germany and having traveled a lot in Austria I must say this is the best Austrian / German/ French food I had in NYC in 18 years. It’s taking classics to the next level. The venue is great and the staff is amazing. The wine list is full of gems from the Austrian and german wine regions. I highly recommend coming here - and please do have the Schnitzel.”
“My friend and I stopped by for a weekend brunch recently - we didn't have a reservation but there were plenty of tables open for us. (Seems they might be more of a dinner place). The ambiance is very nice - not too loud - and the decor feels very casually elegant. We started with a duck liver parfait. The brioche was really delicious - light, fluffy, and buttery, and it paired wonderfully with the richer and savoury flavours of the duck. I do wish they gave a bit more bread, the parfait was really delicious, but a little too heavy to eat just by itself, and the ratio of duck to bread was a little skewed (in our opinion) haha. We also ordered the Ei im Glass - also fantastic, although the pedant in me wants to note that there were technically two eggs. Anyways, the poached eggs were cooked perfectly with a deliciously runny yolk, and the Hollandaise was really excellent. I'd definitely recommend this, it was a really authentic representation of a classic Viennese dish. The schnitzel was good, but didn't shine as much. I think the biggest flaw was the breading, which felt a bit light and airy. The pork itself was tasty, and I really, really adored the potato salad, which was cooked to a perfect tenderness and paired with a lovely creamy sauce. Finally we shared the apple strudel. The apple flavour was really fresh and paired nicely with the cinnamon, but I did feel that the pastry was a little bit soggier than I would have liked -- I fear it didn't quite have that classic flakiness. In any case, it was a super yummy meal all around, and price point was honestly quite reasonable (and better than I expected given the quality of food). I'd be keen to come back to give their dinner menu a try!”
“Not worth the price of “restaurant week”. Not only the main dish I wanted was sold out but the dessert was lame. It says plum with creme brûlée and there were barely slices. (I could not get the strudel as I am allergic to hazelnuts and they were inside the pastry. I couldn’t get the mousse as there was rum and I can’t have alcohol) loved the beets as the first course. Chicken was tende but not worth $60. Service was good. Way too much AC.”
