“We had such a wonderful experience at La Mar! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Our waiter, Sebastian (I think that was his name), was incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all of our questions and gave amazing recommendations that truly elevated our dining experience. The food was absolutely outstanding, everything was fresh, flavorful, and tasted so authentic. You can really tell there’s care and quality in every dish. We came to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and she loved every moment of it. The combination of delicious food, warm service, and great atmosphere made it such a special and memorable experience for our whole family. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend La Mar to anyone looking for incredible Peruvian cuisine and top-notch service!”
“May have been the best meal I've ever had in Bellevue. We had wonderful time at La Mar. I never imagined we'd have fine dining experiences in Bellevue, but La Mar hits all the marks. Service was fantastic, the presentation beautiful, and food was outstanding. Reminded me of the experience dining at a bib gourmand in Copenhagen. Cebiche - gotta order, I enjoyed the classic and Nikkei the most. We tried 4-5 small plates which were all delicious. For mains we had fresh fish (rockfish) and Mariscos and aeropuerto all were delicious. Sommelier was so approachable and gave us some great parings. Will definitely dine here again.”
“The food we ordered was tasty. We cleaned out every dish we ordered. My husband likes their spirit drinks he ordered. However, the chef's last bite (not pictured) which was two small pieces of chocolate was not good. Definitely not the last taste I wanted after the meal. It was bitter and sour...it needed some sweetness to tie the two strong flavors together. All the servers in the dinning area were friendly and attentive. However the hostess (young lady) working that night (6/6/26) at the front desk was not very friendly. No friendly greeting...not even a smile. As we waited to be seated (about 10 minutes past our reservation time for 7:30) I kept observing her and she just doesn't look happy to be working. She didn't greet anyone with a smile. I was tempted to go ask her why she looks so unhappy. Ambiance was nice with thoughtful decor and spacious seating.”
“Still great place to get together with friends if you’re craving seafood dishes. The ceviche has been always very good. This time we tried their prawn special and I thought it was a bit overcooked. The gigantic prawn lost its texture and a bit rubbery. The octopus dish is still great.”
“Visited La Mar Cebicheria Peruana on March 14, around 5 PM with a group of four. The place was pretty busy, so reservations are definitely a good idea. There was a lot of staff working and the service was great the whole time. Our server was friendly and attentive, and everything came out at a good pace even with a full restaurant. The drinks were amazing. We tried the Lychee Sour, Sammamish Spritz, and an Espresso Martini, and all of them were really well made and balanced. For food we started with the Papitas Peruanas, crispy Peruvian potatoes with queso fresco, huacatay, and rocoto (contains gluten and dairy). The flavors were good, but the potatoes were a little dry, which was the only small downside of the meal. We also ordered the Cebiche Tasting, which was excellent and very fresh — a great way to try different styles of ceviche. Another dish we tried was Roquitas Nikkei, which had a really nice flavor and texture. For mains we had the Arroz con Mariscos, a Peruvian seafood rice dish similar to paella, and it was packed with seafood and very flavorful. We also tried the Quinoa Caprese, which was lighter but still very tasty. For dessert we shared the Tres Leches de Coco and sorbet, which were both a great way to finish the meal. Overall the food, drinks, and service were really good. The atmosphere was lively and you can tell they have a strong team working there. The only reason I’m giving 4.5 stars instead of 5 is because the potatoes were a little dry and the place is on the pricier side, but overall it was still a great experience. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Bellevue.”
