The journey started with El Balconcito I & II, a family-run restaurant. With the desire and passion to expand the love of Peruvian flavors, Miguel Toro created Vista Peru; the first authentic Peruvian restaurant in Philadelphia.
“Stopped in today with my dad. We had the yucca la huancaina, ceviche, and masamora morrada. Everything was delicious! The ceviche was particularly hearty and fresh. Everything was great! Our server Andres was incredibly attentive. We made plans to come back tomorrow for el pollo a la brasa. Great authentic Peruvian food in a great spot. The restaurant itself is very well done with decor and ambiance.”
“We tried Peruvian food for the first time and were very impressed how delicious it was. Service was great. Anthony our waiter was very nice. He explained and recommended different authentic dishes. Beer and cocktails were great. I highly recommend this place. We'll definitely come back again.”
“The food was amazing I had the Risotto con Lomo Saltado. The risotto was creamy and cheesy just perfect. The steak was very tendor cut with a butter knife and the flavor were to die for. Wife had the Arroz con Marisco also wonderful and filled with seafood. Every bite had seafood. Atmosphere is upscale. Definitely will return.”
“Went in not knowing what to expect. I highly recommend stopping by and giving it a try. Could be the best restaurant in old city The owner, staff, and the bar tender were so nice. They gave us amazing recommendations. The Pisco drinks were unique and delicious. My favorite was this tower with octopus and avocado. It was one of the best things I have ever eaten. Hopefully the chef makes it a permanent item.”
“So the food was good, but the water of ceviche made the rice to wet and made everything taste a bit too similar. Overall it was good, if you want to try a Peruvian restaurant. So the door was a bit open and when it was windy we could feel it and made it a bit chilly, and the overall the place is okay nothing that fancy. The service was also good. Overall I would say a strong 4 out 5 for this place.”
