Lilac, the Michelin-Starred Mediterranean restaurant helmed by the esteemed Chef John Fraser, redefines the art of dining. It features signature elements of Chef Fraser's Mediterranean cuisine mastery, explored through fresh Floridian ingredients. Open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, the dining room’s open concept, walnut flooring, and glowing pendant globes surround an eight-seat Christian Liaigre chef’s counter and a lively open kitchen, creating a convivial, yet elevated environment. Taking its cues from Fraser’s Greek heritage and his admiration of Turkish and French cuisines, Lilac’s menu is a balance of fresh, seasonal, and locally-sourced items with bold flavors and exquisite presentations.
“dined at Lilac last night, and the entire evening was a tour de force. From start to finish, the experience delivered the exact level of refined luxury and execution you would expect from a world-class, Michelin-caliber establishment. Every single element was a standout, beginning with the incredible amuse-bouches featuring caviar that set an elite tone for the night. The Wagyu was cooked to absolute perfection—an incredibly rich, melt-in-your-mouth dish that was worth the visit alone. What truly elevated the meal, however, was the extraordinary wine pairing list. The curation was flawless, with each selection beautifully complementing and expanding the complex flavor profiles of the courses. The service was impeccable, striking that rare and perfect balance of being highly attentive, knowledgeable, and professional without ever feeling stiff. If you are looking for a true, top-tier gastronomic experience that hits every single note, Lilac delivers on every level. An unforgettable evening.”
“We stayed at The Tampa EDITION over Fourth of July weekend and found ourselves without dinner reservations for Saturday evening. When we stopped by the host stand, we were greeted with such warmth and kindness by Marina. She graciously handed us a menu, and as we chatted, she mentioned she was from France. We had just returned from an incredible trip to France ourselves, which sparked a lovely conversation. She asked what our favorite dish had been during our travels, and without hesitation we said the French delicacy sweetbreads. We made a reservation for the following evening, never imagining what would happen next. From the moment we returned, it felt less like dining at a restaurant and more like being welcomed into the home of good friends. The hospitality was genuine, thoughtful, and incredibly special. We selected five dishes from the menu, already excited for what was ahead, but after the amuse-bouche, Chef Seth emerged from the kitchen carrying a surprise plate prepared specifically for us: sweetbreads. To say we were stunned would be an understatement. In less than 24 hours, the team had somehow sourced the ingredients solely because of a casual conversation we had shared the night before. Chef Seth created a stunning composition featuring sweetbreads, truffles, and mushrooms that was absolutely unforgettable. It was one of the most thoughtful gestures we have ever experienced in a restaurant, and we felt genuinely cared for in a way that is exceedingly rare. As for the rest of the meal, every dish was extraordinary. The octopus with pork belly, squab with foie gras, king crab risotto, Dover sole, and duck au poivre were each exceptional in their own right. We honestly could not choose a favorite because every course was executed flawlessly and left us wanting to come back for more. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for making our evening so memorable. Special thanks to Marina, Chef Seth, and Jeffrey for creating an experience that went far beyond a meal. You made us feel truly celebrated, and that level of hospitality is something we will never forget. Lilac is not just a restaurant—it is an experience. We cannot wait to return.”
“We decided to have a girls’ night at this restaurant, and I only have good things to say. From the moment we arrived, the hostess was very professional and kind. The servers were amazing—they described everything clearly and made sure to answer all of our questions. It was nice to see the chefs and cooks preparing the food, and every time our dishes arrived, we were excited to try them. I normally don’t like truffle, but the pasta was really good. I also don’t usually like octopus, but it was definitely worth trying. They paid attention to the smallest details, even in the way the food was served and presented. It’s definitely worth going and trying. I personally liked that, while it is a nice, fancy restaurant, you’re still able to talk and it’s not too quiet.”
“Lilac is hands down my favorite date spot in Tampa. From the moment we walk in, it feels intentional, intimate, and unforgettable — which is why we always choose it to celebrate our anniversary. One of the sweetest touches? The handwritten anniversary note waiting at our table. It’s such a small detail, but it makes the entire evening feel personal and thoughtful in a way that stays with you. Every course is plated so elegantly it almost feels like artwork. The presentation alone sets the tone, but the flavors absolutely deliver. Each dish is layered, balanced, and beautifully composed. The ambiance — soft lighting, calm energy, refined atmosphere — somehow enhances the experience even more. It truly feels like the setting elevates the flavors on the plate. If you’re looking for a place that makes a night feel meaningful, romantic, and unforgettable, Lilac is it. Every single time.”
“It was good, it wasn’t above and beyond for a Michelin Star restaurant. The service itself was excellent. From the hostess to the server to management. They were extremely attentive, kind and paid attention to every detail. The food was good but we’ve had better at the same operating level of restaurant. The octopus with corn and pork belly were good- octopus cooked perfectly the corn was excellent, the pork belly was just okay- not as crisp/glazed as I’d like it to have been. The pasta with truffle and Parmesan was probably one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. They also offered a gluten free portion for me which was amazing. The ribeye for two was good with a nice presentation but it and the ratatouille while good lacked salt. The salad that came with the steak was great- simple but the dressing was amazing. They should have nailed the steak and they just didn’t. Overall, the experience was just good but underwhelming.”
