Welcome to Rocca, a Michelin Starred Italian restaurant in the vibrant neighborhood of Tampa Heights. Our menu is deeply rooted in the classic Italian dining experience, underlining the undeniable connection between food and the people around the table. Chef Bryce honors traditional recipes learned in Italy, while infusing modern techniques honed working in cutting edge kitchens in New York. The coming together of the two results in flavors that are rustic, yet refined, simple, yet beautiful and approachable by nature. An innovative crudo and freshly baked bread amongst other seasonal shareable plates are the perfect place to start. Rocca’s extensive Italian wine list and innovative cocktail program are an invitation to further immerse yourself in the experience. Fresh pastas, an expertly dry aged duck or a dry aged wagyu serve as an ending to remember. Inspired by the old and the new, Rocca instills a sense of nostalgia and curiosity in every guest.
“Sat at the bar on a last minute decision and we were WOW’ed! Delicious cocktails and yummy starters. The chicken liver was the smoothest we have ever had and the tuna melted in our mouths. Al and Justin (Jay Z) were AMAZING!! Will absolutely be back for dinner service.”
“Food and experience was amazing. We celebrated my wife's birthday and she said this place is now her new favorite. Our waiter was on point, he listened well and was very knowledgeable of the menu. Another teammate (Jenna) I believe, was just super awesome. She greeted us and made us feel welcome from the minute we walked in, she even paid us a visit throughout our dinner, making it feel like we were dining with family. Loved the experience.”
“Rocca exceeded every expectation we had. We initially booked dinner thinking it would be a special experience to try once, but by the end of the evening, we were already talking about when we could come back. The food was nothing short of extraordinary and absolutely deserving of its Michelin star. Every dish was consistently executed to perfection…each one uniquely different, yet all packed with incredible flavor, creativity, and balance. This is the kind of restaurant that reminds you why fine dining is special. The dishes are so thoughtfully crafted that you know you could never truly replicate them at home. A huge part of what made the evening exceptional was our server, Angle. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, and his attentiveness elevated the entire experience. He guided us through the menu with confidence, took the time to explain dishes and ingredients, and every recommendation he made was spot-on. His passion and professionalism made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the meal. From the service to the atmosphere to the unforgettable food, Rocca delivered an experience that was remarkable from start to finish. We left thoroughly impressed and already looking forward to our next visit.”
“We ended up at Rocca for my son’s college graduation dinner. He picked this over Burns so we were excited to try it. Service was outstanding and the food was truly an experience—from the homemade mozzarella cheese tableside to the grilled pineapple with prosciutto, it was a culinary adventure. The service was great and everybody is available to answer questions or tell you the best order to eat things to het the most taste. We tried almost every single thing almost on the menu. They also have a carbonara that is amazing and it’s off the menu. However, I will warn you that it is a traditional Roman carbonara, not the creamy heavy carbonara that you are used to seeing in other Italian restaurants. I found it delicious but he said a lot of people really prefer the creamy one. So if you’re feeling adventurous, give it a try. The Caprese salad was made with tomatoes that were literally like candy they were so sweet. The pineapple was the sweetest I’ve ever tasted so the quality of the food will blow you away. I loved the Key lime pie for dessert. I loved my Branzino fish, even though I did not care for the eyeball looking at me lol. Most of the meals are served family style. However, if you have big eaters like my husband, he did not feel the pasta dishes had enough in there to share with several people. That’s the only thing I would say is that the pasta dishes really didn’t have a lot on those plates so if you’re splitting it, just make sure you’re eating lighter. The desserts were amazing and I appreciated that they had a healthy mocktail menu with beautiful options. Mine was a thyme spritzer and it was downright delicious. This is not an inexpensive place, but it wasn’t ridiculously expensive either. I think this is definitely a special occasion restaurant. It was louder than I expected, and my husband thought that was a little annoying, but other than that it was a great experience. By the way, if you have a big crowd, you may want to ask for the round table. We love that so much because we could see each other pass plates around easily rather than going down a long table. Hope you get to visit and enjoy this Michelin star restaurant right here at Armature Works. Ps-just for your reference they have an extremely popular duck dish that the waiter said if you’re interested in it, you really need to reserve it ahead of time. It was not available when we went so even though I’m not a duck person, the fact that people reserve it ahead of time means it must be incredible. If you like duck or you just wanna try a Michelin star duck, I highly recommend reserving it ahead of time.”
“I was incredibly excited for my first visit to Rocca, but unfortunately, it did not live up to the Michelin hype. The biggest disappointment was the service. We explicitly told our server it was our first time, but she didn't offer to explain the menu or mention any specials. Meanwhile, we watched her give a detailed, thorough walkthrough to the larger party right next to us. It felt like because we weren't ordering as much, she decided we weren't worth her time. Excellent hospitality should be standard for every table, not just the high spenders. As for the food, it was just okay. The house-made pasta was borderline undercooked rather than a true al dente. We skipped the tableside mozzarella cart as it felt a bit gimmicky, and the rest of the meal didn't do much to make up for the lackluster start. Maybe standards have slipped since they received their star, but for the price and expectation, the consistency and basic hospitality just weren't there. Maybe it was an off night, and I may try again in the future, but there are other places I'd rather go first.”
