“Dined at Tanto and had an absolutely wonderful time. The service was stellar (Chuck, Tony C and Nick P). My friend and I were so pleased that we thanked every member of staff on duty. It was that good. The food was perfection and the drinks were beyond impressive.”
“There is no other dining experience in Tampa quite like Kosen. The meal and the experience are worth every penny. We went for my wife's birthday and they treated us like family. The omakase service requires a reservation and is amazing. We enjoyed the 13 course winter menu. The chef carefully craft each dish in front of you and they explain the dishes as well. We also had the sake and wine pairings which were phenomenal. They were also carefully selected for the courses and well detailed by the sommelier. They also have a separate bar that you can order some dishes from as well. This is a great choice for an celebration or just an awesome meal experience. Thank you Kosen crew!”
“My husband surprised me with the Winter Omakase for our anniversary. Honestly, it was better than our first omakase in Japan! The menu was curated by Chef Andrew Huang and incorporated different flavors from different cultures. I did the zero alcohol pairing and Mike did the normal version. Each drink was curated to pair perfectly with what we ate. Chef Andrew was amazing he would tell us about the dishes and the ingredients used. I fell in love with the uni (sea urchin) in Japan. Chef Andrew recommended the caviar instead. His recommendation was spot on! The caviar blew my mind I am now converted. I understand now! I highly recommend the experience! We can't wait to come back to try the new menus!”
“I’ve never done an omakase before… and this blew away my expectations. I was definitely full by the end of it. The executive chef was incredible and very fun. He was incredibly talented and they had a great menu. You will not be disappointed. The staff were excellent and very attentive.”
“I finally was able to make it to Kosen for a special birthday dinner at the omakase counter. Hands down the best Japanese food I’ve had so far. Being within downtown Tampa makes it so easy to get to the restaurant and it’s in a great location. The service throughout the 2 hour experience was incredible. Everyone was so knowledgeable and attentive. The wagyu was one of the first dishes and it was hard for anything to beat that, the meat was so tender I didn’t even know it was in my mouth. The flavor of the duck breast was out of this world, I wish I had more bites of both. The nigiri experience was amazing, all the bites were great and the fresh wasabi and everything being made to order was a joy to watch. The akami tuna was the best and the quality of fish was pristine. The brown butter ice cream with apple and parsnip was my favorite dish and ended the meal perfectly. This experience was definitely worth the price of admission and something you should try at least once. Thank you chef!”
